Thornton Distilling Co. is a single malt whisky distillery located in the oldest standing brewery in Illinois, c. 1857. The Well is our full-service restaurant, tasting room & cocktail bar. We offer craft cocktails, delicious food and tours of our historic space. Our tour takes guests back in time and highlights the building's rich history spanning nearly two centuries from its inception in 1857-- throughout the prohibition era when Al Capone took control-- to the distillery's current 21st century production. Visit the original limestone-filtered artesian well beneath the building and our production floor where we produce craft single malt whiskey, rum, gin, absinthe and vodka. The tour costs $15 and includes a guided tasting.
