One of very few restaurants in Ithaca that you would genuinely recommend to travelers, friends, and family.
Although, it is hard to get a table.
Food was outstanding. OUTSTANDING. I don’t know if the pasta is homemade but it sure as hell tasted like it. Perfectly cooked. Spicy vodka sauce was insane. Food was hot. You know when you get some good tasting hot food? This was it. I can’t say enough good things. Amy was our server and she was amazing. I would have taken pics but ate too much too fast. I’ll be back.
The waitress was completely inflexible in seating a group of five. We had to wait two hours, and she couldn’t offer us alternatives to sit separately, refusing to add a chair to a table for four.
Very poor service, but the food is generally good.
I want to give a 5 on the quality of food alone. Excellent pizza, homemade pasta, and drinks. Delicious tiramisu. The only downside, and this was major for me, is that it felt far too rushed. We went in on a Saturday, lined up before opening, and were out in 45 minutes even with ordering drinks, apps, and desert. Our food arrived before our drinks and our mains came out a few minutes after the appetizer. We are busy parents who don't get a chance to go out much, and if I am going to spend that much money on food (which was worth every penny), I want to enjoy it and not feel rushed.
Although the food was good, it was very disappointing that the silverware and plates in front of us were dirty. When we notified the server they were not clean she went to the stack of plates and felt each plate to make sure they are clean. As she was feeling each plate to get a clean one she went through at least dozen plates to find ones that were clean enough to give us. I recommend the truffle Alfredo and the pepper was a nice touch, but thinking that the bowl it came in was unsettling.
We happened upon this restaurant. Each dish was very tasty, thoughtful and well made. The staff was great and the restaurant is well designed. Whole-hearted recommendation.
Pizza and salad were amazing. Unable to enjoy Baklava due to sweetness.
Sat at the bar because the wait was long. Putting your name on the list ASAP is recommended, but bar seating is up for grabs!! WORTH THE WAIT. One of the best pasta/pizza combos I’ve had. The vodka pasta was beyond delicious. The sauce was creamy and just spicy enough. Homemade pasta. Cocktails were also great. Fair prices.
The food is still great at the new place, but the lighting is a bit bright and it's very loud now with the music. The old location felt like a cute date night spot now it's not that. Which is fine, just different vibe overall.
the straciatella is genuinely not what it used to be, and i’ve been twice to the new location feeling rather disappointed by this. while the cheese was once incredibly creamy and flavorful, the prosciutto a bright welcoming color, the two times i’ve gotten the ‘new’ straciatella the cheese and prosciutto both have been rather dry—not quite as fresh and milky like before! it feels worse knowing this used to be my favorite dish in all of ithaca, only for it to have disappointed me twice in a row now. the pasta sauce is very creamy and flavorful, but sometimes the pasta itself is overcooked with the noodles falling apart. the best pizza i've had here is definitely the diavola, though one time the bottom was a little too soggy for my liking. i'd say the food is generally tasty, and when it’s done right it is absolutely delicious, but quality control needs a little work as food isn't always consistent.
Had an amazing dinner at this lovely spot in downtown Ithaca. The food was authentic italian, we tried the stracciatella mortadella as a starter and the vodka pasta and vodka roni pizza - all were delicious. The staff was very friendly, we asked for the meat to be on the side as one of us is vegetarian and they accommodated it perfectly - even clarified after taking the order if this should be the case for all dishes or only the ones we shared. Super happy and will definitely come back if we come back to Ithaca.
I won't go back.
First, the restaurant has zero signage outside anywhere indicating that this it the location. Someone else's review includes a photo of the outside of the building, and if you choose to go here, I strongly recommend taking a look and committing that picture to memory so you know where you're going.
Second, the restaurant doesn't take reservations. This brings me back to the first point, as we were literally the first people outside their door about 15-20 minutes before they opened (since they don't take reservations), and because we had to hunt for the restaurant to know where to find the door and where the restaurant was (GPS said we were there, but really there was no way to know for sure), we ended up behind a group of about 5-7 students. No big deal.
However, as time progressed, this group grew. More students walked up and joined their group. What this meant is that when they finally opened the doors, this group, which had now grown to over 15 students, took over the restaurant. And it turns out they weren't a single group. They were seated at four or five separate tables, just throughout the single front room.
Third, when it came our turn to be seated, the hostess said we'd have to wait 20-25 minutes even though there were three tables open that added up to 9-10 seats in the front room at that moment. She wouldn't allow us to put two of those tables together. There would have been no overcrowding, no fire hazard risk, no lack of walkability to deliver food to tables, just a rule she imposed the we couldn't do that.
So, we were told that in order to not inundate the kitchen, they would start taking orders for all those front tables, get their food started, and then they could allow us to sit in the back room. The back room? Interesting, we only saw a front room...can we see the back room? No, we were not permitted to see it. What if we don't like the back room once we get there and we would prefer to go elsewhere? We could leave, or wait 25 minutes to see the back room. What on earth. The attitude, and lack of customer interest, the incapability to think creatively to solve problems.
The two girls running the show up front both had the same attitude. We asked if we could just sit down in the elusive back room, in order to get off our feet from a long day and an already 25 minutes wait we had been standing for in front of the restaurant, and that too was a no.
Forget the food, forget the service. The attitude is enough for me to say never again.

"오픈런이 필요한 이타카 최고 인기 레스토랑"
"피짜를 잘 굽는 진정한 가정식 이탈리안"
미국의 소도시에 오면 음식의 수준은 당연히 대도시에 비해 떨어지기 마련이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 아주 인상적인 레스토랑들이 발견되는데 이집도 그런 부류의 레스토랑이다.
첫 번째 시도에서 식당 마감시간까지 웨이팅이 걸려있어 실패를 했고 두 번째도 약 2시간 30분의 웨이팅 끝에 성공한 곳이다.
다시 말해 이타카에서 가장 먹기 힘든 곳이라 할 수 있다.
실제로 레스토랑 오픈 전에 긴 웨이팅이 생성될 정도로 인기가 있는 핫플이다.
분위기는 아기자기하고 예쁜 코지한 레스토랑 분위기.
옆 테이블 간격이 좁은게 왠지 진짜 이태리 시골 같은 분위기.
친절하신 서버의 무한 친절 공격 받는 분위기.
와인마져 물컵 같은 글라스에 주는 친구집 같은 분위기.
식기도 꽃접시로 아기자기 소꼽놀이 분위기 ㅎㅎㅎ
음식은 아주 소박하며서 가정식을 제대로 느낄 수가 있다.
음식들이 꽤나 푸짐하게 나오고 와인 가격이 소매가에 약 2.5배 정도이니 집에서 먹는 소박하지만 맛있는 음식 같지 않을 수 없다.
#Stracciatella_Mozzarella
스트라챠텔라 모짜렐라는 모짜렐라 치즈를 만들 때 남은 부산물로 시작이 된 치즈이고 부라타치즈를 만들 때 속을 채우는 치즈로도 쓰인다.
쉽게 말해 브라타치지 속이라고 보시면 되겠다.
부드럽고 고소한 치즈에 양질의 올리브오일과 후추면 세상 맛있는 요리인데 맛있는 빵과 달달히 잘 익은 토마토, 프로슈토를 함께 먹는 맛이 꽤나 좋다.
와인과 함께 시작하기 참 좋은 스타터고 이 요리는 집에 와서 와인 마실 때 잘 따라했던 안주가 되기도 했다.

요리 잘하는 이탈리안 레스토랑은 토마토소스와 봉골레가 맛있다.
중국집의 짜장면과 짬뽕 같은 개념이라고나 할까 ㅎㅎ
처음 가는 레스토랑에서는 주로 토마토소스와 봉골레 정도를 맛보는데 이집의 봉골레는 아주 좋다.
스파게티라서 식감이 풍성하고 부드럽게 조개의 맛을 잘 우려낸 맛이다.
레몬 반통 잘라주는 호쾌함도 좋다.
#Chicken_Parmesan_Dinner
요리도 먹어보고 싶은데 토마토소스도 먹고싶으니 치킨파마잔이 딱이다.
닭가슴살을 넓게 펴서 튀겨내고 그 위에 토마토소스와 파마잔을 올려 구워냈다.
디너 플레이트라서 토마토소스 스파게티도 함께 주시는 양 많은 메뉴.
기본적으로 피짜 잘하는 집에서 토마토소스가 맛이 없으면 안된다.
그 기대를 충분히 충족시키는 후레시함과 토마토향이 좋은 맛있는 소스다.
다만 치킨이 오버쿡이라 가슴살이 퍽퍽한 것은 가정식이지만 조리 세밀함이 떨어지는 느낌이다.
양이 아주 많아 배불리 먹었던 디너이고 아기자기한 느낌을 주는 귀여운 곳이다.
대신 레스토랑테 수준의 음식을 기대하면 안되지만 이태리 오스테리아를 생각해도 매칭이 잘 안된다.
미국식 이태리 레스토랑이면서 가정식으로 편안하게 먹을 수 있는 친절하고 인심 좋은 곳이라고 표현하는 것이 더 좋겠다.
아주 좋은 경험을 한 이타카 핫플이다.
PS: 서버님 참 고마우신데, 웨이팅 시간을 대충 알려주시고 그 시간에 맞춰가면 된다. 본인이 입장할 때에도 역 2시간 30분 후에 오라고 하셨고 시간 맞춰 가니 나오는 첫 자리에 앉혀주셨다. 호텔에서 편하게 쉬다가 가니 웨이팅에 대한 고통도 거의 없이 먹은 샘이다.
