Discriminatory staff, they let other people order on my tab, accused us of stealing then didn't apologize when they found out they were wrong, made jokes about alcoholism. Will never go back again and will recommend everyone go literally anywhere else.
I love bars and always have, but I’ve lost a lot of respect for this establishment over the past two years. Service and management are acceptably friendly at best. Slow, rude, and disorganized at worst. For example, one employee called me a “selfish bitch” for not tipping. Another notable instance was when the owner threatened to call the police on my table for a walk-out, only to find that everybody at my table had paid. I went to complain about these issues on the behalf of myself and my friends, but was unfortunately met with a combative and unreceptive owner who was unwilling to take responsibility or make amends for these mistakes. That said, the location is convenient for any student looking to grab a drink on campus. Food isn’t bad, but nothing to write home about ether. I used to go here all the time, but recurring disrespectful treatment of customers and disorganization has hurt the bar’s reputation among the student body. My hope is that the staff learn to see complaints not as attacks, but as opportunities for betterment and learning. I know a lot of people who won’t complain, even when they want to, because they’re afraid of being confronted/yelled at and banned from the bar. That’s no way to run a business. Despite all of it, I still love this place, and believe that someday the Zoo could restore its reputation as a social hub where everyone feels welcomed and respected. But until then, my friends and I will be taking our business somewhere else.
