I used to love this place and have given it a few chances these past 2 years, but today was proof that things are not changing. I don’t blame the staff, but whoever is managing this place needs to improve on their employee retention or just staff more employees during busy times… like dinner. Our table of 4 ordered food and although 3/4 of our dishes came out, my wife was told her Ruben was going to take “a few more minutes.” 15 minutes later, no Ruben, and I asked a server if her sandwich would be out soon. The server dashed into the kitchen and brought out someone else burger. When I gave it back, they finally brought out her Ruben, and it had been made incorrectly (asked for sauerkraut on the side). Final straw was when we were driving back to our place and my wife noticed our bill was for another table who had ordered more food and drinks. It’s not worth the hassle to get our money back so we will just take this as lesson learned, stop giving Wurst chances to be better. I’m glad other enjoy it, I wish I could as well
"Horrible experience! The bartender was incredibly rude, making the atmosphere uncomfortable. The depressing emo music made it unsuitable for families. The burgers were overcooked, and the service was painfully slow. To make matters worse, they were missing half the items on the menu. This place used to be great for bingo, but it's lost all its charm. Definitely won't be returning!"
Mannnn, I used to love this place. I've been going to wurst since it opened. It used to be such a fun place to visit on a Friday night but in the last few years I've given it countless chances to make up for what is consistently bad food anymore. Tonight I had family in town visiting and we ordered take out from wurst. The attention to detail is abysmal. I ordered the chick fu which in it's hayday was such a great meat free option. They changed the recipe years ago and it's never been the same. Today's hot chick fu was probably the worst I've ever had. So crumbly, just generally bad, and after telling the person on the phone that it was fine if the bun wasn't vegan didn't show up with one at all. We had one person in our party that was happy with the food, the rest of the entrees were over cooked, under seasoned, messy, and generally not cared for at all. I was embarrassed I suggested it in the first place. I think I've given wurst its last chance in my book. My nostalgia kept me coming back but after being disappointed time and time again, I think it's time to pull the plug and stop pretending wurst bar is a decent late night option in Ypsilanti.
I allowed my children to choose a spot for lunch..... they found the menu online and chose The Wurst Bar because of the interesting ingredient couplings of some of the sandwiches. You've gotta try the grilled cheese.....
The bar it self is very nice with a lot of beers on tap and a good food menu. Service was very slow and the kitchen was out of just about everything. For us to order drinks and wait 30 min for beer then have all the drinks poured be wrong, and or forgotten about it will not be a place we return.
These guys used to be good. Not anymore. Twice we've gotten super overcooked burgers. Can't justify $15 for a styrofoam burger.
Food was good. A little pricey. Staff was friendly music was loud for nobody being there
