Had a wonderful meal here today and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will be visiting again, shortly I hope Wheelchair accessibility: Very good with a ramp to the raised section of the pub, to the rear plus a large well equipped disabled toilet
This quaint & cosy pub has so much potential but sadly is so lacking in everything else. The bar woman was unwelcoming and rude, but above all else - the food was awful. The battered cod (with the skin on??) had a texture of wotsits and was completely flavourless; even the chips were bad. The macaroni cheese tasted like a cheap box mix, and it was the first (and hopefully only) time a mushroom stroganoff has been served with peppers and a side of grated cheese?! Was this menu designed in the 80s? Expensive and awful, it appears The Portsmouth Hoy feel because they’re in a port / tourist town with never ending renewed footfall, they can slip on quality and get away with it. Our entire party felt unwell after eating here, and I would save your money and avoid at all costs.
Great pub , serving delicious food at amazing prices. Lovely, friendly staff and fantastic atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
My daughter and I ate delicious fish and chips looking out over the quay. The service was very friendly and efficient and the wait for the freshly cooked food allowed me to enjoy my excellent pint of Tanglefoot
A delicious roast. The lamb was absolutely gorgeous! Amazing flavour, finished with an apple pie. Huge apples, juicy sultanas, we loved it! Will come back!! Price was great for what we had, proper pub.
Been going here since we moved 9 years ago. Liz is always cheerful and accommodating. Her hubby does most of the cooking, which is delicious. Steak is always spot on. Highly recommend
