Great service and a real American classic
The fish is moist but could use less batter.
You can't get a bigger or better tasting breakfast. Vegetarian options: Vegi omelette and some others I've not tried. Parking: Parking is at the door. Kid-friendliness: Want to eat kids eat cheaper. Wheelchair accessibility: Double door just go on in wheel chair or not.
Carol's Pancake House is a wonderful place. Love the atmosphere, pictures of what El Cajon looked like back in its beginnings, and very tasty home-cooked meals. Sundays close at 4:30pm.
The food was very poor quality. Toast came out cold with no butter, hash browns tasted frozen and dehydrated, pancakes were tough, omelettes were bland, just all around not good and it was all 3 meals... The service was not good either. When they brought the food they mixed up who got hash browns and who got country potatoes (mind you it's on the same plate as the omelettes so it wasn't an easy swap) the waitress said oh yeah they did mix it up and walked away. Didn't offer a solution or anything. At least an extra plate we can push the hash downs on to swap. They were disgusting anyways so neither were eaten. Never got waters, asked for flavored creamer and never got it. We asked for syrup and she said she'd bring it, after waiting awhile we saw her again and asked and she gave attitude saying "yeah I'm getting it" There was maybe 5 tables with at least 5 employees on the floor. They we're not busy at all. Seriously just save your money or go elsewhere. I'd never recommend the food to anyone!
We've been going there for years. Always good food and good service. Awesome menu. I've had every omelette that they make at least once.
Comfort food with friendly locals, and excellent service.
I LOVE The Pancake House. Its my favorite in town place to go for a great meal. The service is excellent too! Never changes. Always spectacular!!!!! Love it!!!!!
