What a brilliant experience. So family and dog friendly. It was so atmospheric. The service was fast and efficient. The staff were friendly and best of all the tables were cleared quickly. My meal was delicious
Pub on the basic side as far as decor goes. Food good. Not a great atmosphere.
Not up to the standard of normal pub food. Table booked for six no table ready. Won't go again
Went with friends for Easter. Unfortunately the service was not good and it wan t very busy when we had food. It was meant to be unlimited roast potatoes but when I went to the bar after we all finished to ask we were told there was none which was disappointing.
Had a lovely meal here, they apologized for being a bit short staffed which happens but the staff were working really hard and the food was superb. Much recommended!!
Really expensive for what it is! Only 2 veggie options! Which wasn't great. I had the veggie burger and it was rock hard. Puddings came out steaming hot, so hot it burnt your mouth, they were definitely microwaved. Staff were very friendly and it was a nice atmosphere. But in the future ill just go for drinks and not food. Also don't bother buying the cheesy garlic bread! It was basically cheese on toast with garlic butter, £4.50 for cheese on toast, is that some sort of joke?! We all had a good laugh about that. Honestly it was just toasted bread with a tiny bit of cheese on it, that wasn't melted (microwaved probably) Vegetarian options: Only 2 optionsanf if you don't like mushrooms then you'll end up with nachos
Visit tonight and booked a table for 4. First impressions were that of more dogs than customers, but putting that to one side we were pointed to our table and made our way there by ourselves. Seated and looked at the menu and made a decision on the kids menu for my boys (11 and 8) and choose the garlic cheesy bread for starter, Beef burger, chips and beans. Chicken goujons, mini corn and chips. Mains were 3 cheese and mushrooms on bruschetta, Montgomery Jack Burger with Bacon and slow cooked ribs, including drinks that came to over £80. The place was not busy and from what I saw front of house staff were 5+ and not including kitchen staff. Waited 30 mins for starters and when they came out.. wow Kids starter was a slice of bread with cheese and garlic butter on, Adults starter was again bread.. NOT Bruschetta and a single mushroom on each square and over powered garlic cheese, on all fronts not worth the £20 for 4 slices of bread, cheese and garlic. Mains took another 25 mins after this and again was hoping for something better but disappointed to say not even close. Kids burger bun was rock hard and not edible. Mini corn was just 1 medium piece of normal corn and not cooked well and dry. Adult burger was bland and nothing special and NOT worth £17. The slow cooked rib came out cold and with a layer of grease on top. When I mentioned it was cold to the staff, who not once came over and asked if everything was ok took the meal back to the kitchen to re-heat it.......... I mean to openly say it was going to be reheated and not replace.. POOR. When the staff member came back he admitted it was bad and apologised but the damage was done, we never waited for the kids dessert we went to MacDonald's instead. I will not or ever be recommending The Oak at Baginton and will be leaving as many reviews were I can to reflect this.
