A really warm welcoming place, the staff were very friendly, efficient and pleasant. The four of us had the veggie burger, it was very well served with fresh chips and garnish and was very tasty indeed, not like the veggie options at other pubs. Having table service and not having to pay at the bar was also a nice plus, thanks

We came to The Manners for an evening meal 11th April having been twice previously as food was good. However on this visit the food wasn't. I had fish, chips & mushy peas, I couldn't eat the chips as way overcooked, too hard, I couldn't bite into them, half a plate of mushy peas, which is too much. We was not checked upon & couldn't get staffs attention to let them know, but I did let the waitress know when plates were cleared. She was going to let the kitchen know, but didn't come back to us after. Will not be back!!

We visited The Manners on 11th April after previously visited on two occasions and had food. I had fish, chips & mushy peas. I couldn't eat the chips, too hard and I couldn’t bite into them, way over cooked. Way too much of mushy peas. We was not checked upon, nor could I get the attention of staff to let them know. I told the waitress when plates collected and she said she would let the kitchen know, she never came back. Won’t be back!

Went for an impromptu lunch here today (1pm ish), received a friendly welcome by young woman behind the bar in a very quiet pub/restaurant. Menu was small (which I generally prefer) but the prices seemed quite high for what was on offer (£18 for a cheeseburger with chips) but thought it could be really good so gave it a go. Food arrived in good time but it really wasn’t great at all. The plate was really badly broken (the rim had massive chips all round the edge - should never have seen service) The cheeseburger itself wasn’t bad but the brioche bun was very crispy, the actual chips (the ones made from potato, not the ceramic ones) were very chewy and tasted like the oil they were fried in could have been past its best. We mentioned the above when asked if everyone was ok. An apology was given. In total £45 for a cheeseburger, chicken burger, 1 pint and a coke seemed incredibly over priced for the quality and experience. Sadly not somewhere I would be able to recommend.

Followed the Good Beer Guide and went to this pub after walking the Monsal Trail. Wonderful food and beer. Carrot and Coriander soup followed by Cottage Pie with a pint of Robinson's Unicorn ale. Cozy pub with great service and dog friendly too. Recommended after a long walk! Walkability: 10 minutes walk from Monsal Trail
