Went to the bakery/cafe next door (not pub/hotel) and it's fantastic, good food and prices.
This was the first time we have visited The Haughmond and can thoroughly recommend the food, service and atmosphere. The chalk stream trout starter was delicious due to being wild caught not farmed! Followed by the longhorn beef burger served pink bursting with flavour helped by the harissa coleslaw. My wife chose the butternut risotto as she is a vegetarian which was again delicious, the bar also keeps Doombar real ale which is a favourite of mine and made the evening perfect. Well done to all. We returned to dine at the Haumond Inn after seeing their post on social media. The menu caters for meat eaters and vegetarians. We skipped starters and ordered rib eye steak and trout. Both meals were prepared beautifully, tasted divine. We followed the main course with a rice pudding and a treacle tart. Both were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and would return again to sample more dishes. The only additional comment I would like to add is to note that the toilets are not sign posted in a standard way. Don't get confused, ask the staff before you get embarrassed walking into the wrong loo.
A lovely, homely place that caters for night out drinks and a fancy gourmet meal. We've been going for drinks and our anniversary lunches. The next door bakery has a variety of pies and pastries, not to mention amazing bread. The food is excellent and keeps us coming back. Keep up the great menu, service and atmosphere guys.
Rooms: Beautifully decorated, comfortable and ensuite with an amazing shower with great water pressure. Food & drinks: A delicious meal in the restaurant downstairs for dinner and breakfast in the morning was stunning too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
Food & drinks: This is a lovely cosy place serving beautiful food, immaculately presented. Always a warm welcome from Mel. Highly recommended.
My other half and I stayed here overnight as we were attending a function close by. I grew up and went to junior school in Upton Magna, and are frequent visitors to the village. However, I have never been in or stayed at The Haughmond until last night. It is a really lovely place, the attention to detail is absolutely spot on. The standard of our room and the cleanliness was to a very high standard. All of the staff were exceptional, especially the guy who booked us in, and the ladies who served breakfast were just amazing. The breakfast, what can I say, this was beautiful (see photos). We didn't stay for evening meal, as we had already eaten, however next time we stay we will have the evening meal. The following morning, we did an 11km circular taking in Haughmond Hill and the surrounding area and returned to The Haughmond cafe for a well-earned coffee before our long drive home.
Fabulous food, great service, cosy atmosphere, perfect! Delicious lunch, and looking forward to going back.
