IMMA KEEP IT REAL: If you do not have the patience of a SAINT, keep pushing lol but it's definitely worth the wait!! I suggest calling your order in about an hour before you want to pick it up, and have about 15 minutes to wait when you pull up. im not exaggerating. PARKING IS GOING TO BE NONEXISTENT; you might find a spot right in front, you might have to risk parking somewhere you have no business parking. but if it's after 5pm, you shouldn't have to worry about UNCG parking services frfr. From my observation, there are only TWO individuals running things, and they work hard to keep things moving! I've been a couple times since they opened on UNCG's campus, and the food has been GOOD and the service has been pleasent. I got a combo (about $16) that came with fried whiting, wingettes, two sides, and bread. I got my wings naked with the godmother sauce (kind of like sweet heat, but really not spicy). I got collards (vegetarian friendly), yams, and added on a side of mac & cheese. The fish was BOMB; fresh, hot, and beautiful. The wings were pretty good too. The yams were excellent; not too sweet. I was not a huge fan of the greens but I added a little hot sauce and they were okay; probably would not order them again. The mac & cheese was pretty good too, I just prefer it to be a little creamier, but it's not EGGY so that's a plus. THE PASSION PUNCH. If they have it, GET IT. That is crack in a container fr. The other review experiences may very well be true but that was not MY experience. I would go back again and again.

I honestly enjoyed the food. The 3 stars because they opened about 15 after the time mentioned on phone recording, and I also had to wait an hour and a half for 2 chicken plates. This was my 1st visit, so I'm not sure if today was just one of those days or if this is around the norm. I do still recommend it because the food was good and I honestly will go back. I think I'll call my order in on the phone before I make that drive to Greensboro next time The lady behind the register was nice also . Forgot to take pics of our food ‍♀️

I love this place. The food is good. Ull go bck to try everything. Parking: U can park in the front of the place are ull have to park on the side of the street

Called to place an order 6x in one day over course of 3 hours and each time I was put on hold by the person who answered because apparently she needs to hire someone to take orders because it’s only one person available for in-person orders and take-out calls. I would wait for 15 min minimum at a time each call before hanging up. The last time I called she was rude when I stated that I could not hear her because she was talking fast and her background was muffled; she then repeated herself but I realized she was simply asking me to hold so she could serve customers in front of her (yet again) and asked me to hold. My child started crying and she immediately says “let me hung up and let you get that together” and hung up. I called back immediately and I was placed right back on hold. Very Rude. And never got to order food.

This place is absolutely amazing, some of the best food I’ve you’ll ever taste

I'm absolutely disappointed and pissed off. It took 50 mins to get 2 plates of food.. which i wouldn't have cared if the food was actually good. I watched them refry my wings once they got cold from waiting. The Mac n Cheese is over cooked and disgusting. The green beans had no flavor and no seasoning. And the jerk chicken literally taste like pure black pepper chicken. Idk the best thing in there was the crispy French fries. It looks good, but it doesn't taste good. Where's the soul in this food ????

Everytime I go to this place it’s closed. I just drove 30 mins to the new place on UNCG campus. Got there at 5:27 and the door was locked. Supposedly it wasn’t open until 5:30–3 workers stood and looked at me. I guess I’ll never be able to try their food if the unprofessionalism is going to continue to lack. Literally just wanted a piece of fish….it’s hard to support Black businesses if they can’t follow simple hours. Parking: The parking is HORRIFIC.

OMG TRIED TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE AND THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE CALLE IN ONLY TO BE OUT ON HOLD FOR 20 MIN TO GET HUNG UP ON WHOLE LISTENING TO THE CONVERSATION ABOUT WHATEVR WITH CUSTOMERS. NEVER WAS GREATED AND NEVER GOT TO ORDER. THIS IS WHY AFRICAN AMERICAN BUSINESSES DONT STAY AROUND POPR CUSTOMER SERVICE
