It's yrs since i was in the corner café in Falkirk. I was put off by the very small baked tattie that i got. I saw a notice inside the window that they welcome REVIEWS so you know me - back in i went on Monday 19/2/24. Most tables were nearly all full so i just sat at a table for 4 as there were only a couple sat there. I had a long wait & no one brought me a menu, but the guy sat next to me spotted a few at other tables further back & went & brought me one & i didn't order a baked tattie (coward u might think) but i was more interested to find out if their lentil soup was thick or watery & i like it thick & so it was BUT i was let down as happens in a few eating establishments that the soup not only being watery but is only warm & that was the problem in The Corner Cafe I could have asked for it to be heated up, but i just woolfed it down so that i could try their carrot & coriander soup & told Denis the tall Scotsman that his soup tasted good & it was nice & thick but only warm for which he apologised When the carrot & coriander soup came it was also thick & piping hot and the bread was lovely & soft. I had a flat white coffee & it tasted lovely & strong, with a nice feather pattern on top. I WILL BE BACK. DV I did go back in on Sat.24/2/24 it was about 2.15pm & I was looking forward to enjoying a lovely thick hot bowl of their lentil soup, but there was none left so i opted for their sweet potato soup & when it arrived i said to the waitress - did u manage to find some lentil soup left over? & she said none left & that's the sweet potato soup or words to that effect & to me it looked like lentil soup & it tasted sweet & it was thick & just like their lentil soup. I then went to their toilets & if your disabled there are none upstairs or down stairs & you will have to use the ones across the way in the Howgate. I mentioned that to Daniel on the way out, about putting up a notice to that effect. I ventured into the Corner Cafe AGAIN at around 11.30am Mon. 26/2/24 Daniel is his name & not Dennis who i would call the head waiter & deputy manager - maybe he thinks he is, but he is not Daniel is a very pleasant guy & is soft spoken. I asked for a coffee & a fruit scone but he forgot to ask me if i wanted it warmed up & as usual i forgot to tell him that SO i can't fault him for that & i know that they would have gladly warned it up. I had already read about a reviewer regarding the many succulent sultanas that were in them scones & I counted only 5 black things (probably & hopefully the sultanas) poking out of the top halve of the scone. I didn't count how many were in the bottom halve of my scone 'cos it was nearly all gone. I couldn't wait to get into it sorry bout THET. The massive scone did taste good & the 2 portions of butter were ample & they didn't skimp on the lovely thick tasting jam. So if you pop in remember to ask for it to be warmed up & maybe those bits of fruit will soften up like the cushions u can sit on BUT don't sit in the damp ones at the window There the condensation ones Back in again Tue 27/12/24 This time with a friend, to hopefully have a large baked tattie with chicken tika in it & their side salad. WELL as u can see the meal on my very slightly warm plate - just enough to take the chill off it as it couldn't be a plate because of the cold salad on it. That's the first time i've experienced that in a cafe b4 just gr8 Anyway it was a colourful picture of beauty on my plate & it wasn't that cheap lettuce that can stick in your throat - some of it was crisp & varied - very nice & the baked tattie or potato (if u want) was cooked to perfection & i could even eat all the skin off the potato, where as in many cafes one can't because a patch off the skin is all tough, and their were no tough bits of chicken either in/on the tattie, all was °

It was best the end of the day, so not busy, hence lack of atmosphere. Coffee was pretty good and the tray bake was significant in size and taste. Service was excellent!

I visited this fantastic independent cafe in Falkirk Town Centre for the first time this morning. Very friendly and cosy and I would say the cappuccino & fruit scone I had were as good as it gets. I shall return!
