The Castle Vaults

The Castle Vaults is a nice old traditional pub. There is a wide range of beers, largers and cider, and three hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales. The ones we sampled were in excellent condition. The pub has a modern interior and a lot of TVs the wear a lot of people in watching the football. There are takeaway menus from the Pizza Place across the road, so you can order it in, and they'll deliver it for you. There's a nice little outside seating area at the back, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It's a great pub. Nearby activities: It's not far from Shrewsbury Castle and the river seven Walkability: Shrewsbury is very small and compact everything is in walking distance Food & drinks: There are takeaway menus in the pub and the Pizza Place opposite will deliver

I booked room for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 due to couldn’t get into shower as it was too dangerous to get into. Manager promised me a refund for 2nd night but I’m still awaiting since Nov 2023 and I’m not going to be getting now as he comes up with excuse after excuse why he can’t give me the refund every time I speak to so called manager. What a waste of space he is and doesn’t care about his customers only about his profits. Not a nice man at all and would not stay there ever again because of the Director/Manager.

There is nothing memorable about this pub apart from its location outside the castle. There was no atmosphere. The selection of cask beers was not great but what there was was served reasonably well.
