We come here regularly. Recently popped in for a quick lunch with my mum. Great food as always but It is the guy in charge who really makes this place. Friendly warm and creates a lovely atmosphere here. Thanks x x
We were a large group celebrating 2 birthdays. We were in a room at the back id the pub which would have been nice but all the old tea cups and saucers were being stored in there and was more like a store room (a forgotten part of the pub) than part of the establishment. It took more than 30 minutes for our food to arrive even though we had pre booked. The service was very slow and poor and the food was poor quality and poorly cooked. The chicken was burnt, dry and accompanying chips also burnt and missing any sauce. The lamb was very poor quality. The pie was all puff pastry with no filling. Our whole experience was very disappointing and out of our party of 17 we will not be recommending or returning. The prices charged did not reflect the quality of food or service provided.
This has always been a nice place to eat in the past. Unfortunately however, the starter we had today was still frozen in the middle. The steak pie was ok, although still quite an expensive meal at £37 for two steak pies and two Pepsis. Service was very good as always and the frozen starter was taken off the bill. Probably look at eating elsewhere next time.
Had a couple of beers whilst cycling the Preston Guild Wheel. Nice little pub, just on the outskirts of Preston
Went with family today. I had the trio of roasts sunday lunch. I can honestly say that the meal was one of the best Sunday lunches I've had. You got belly of pork, beef and turkey. Everything was melt in your mouth. The star was belly of pork. All the veggies cooked to perfection. Will definitely book again and recommend.
Lovely oldy style pub & nice atmosphere.
