Proper Beer, Coffee, Pasties and Cakes within a quaint little rustic building and really friendly staff. Great pitstop with a nice outdoor terrace for sunny days up some steps. (Mind the cars on the way out as there's no pavement). My Wife had a Latte and I sampled the Down Dale Pale Ale which was really tasty. Shame I couldn't see any of it available in cans or bottles to buy as takeout but there were other choices. They had been quite busy over Easter (Thanks for the tip Sam Culley.) We'd like to visit again for longer when we stay for a weekend camping nearby.

On a walk to Lumsdale waterfall passed this little gem. A warm friendly welcome awaited. Can highly recommend the cookie pie I had with my cuppa. Sat on the terrace in the sun listening to the birds. Shame I was driving so I couldn't sample the beer. Will definitely drop in again as its only a short walk out of Matlock.

What a fantastic little pub! Great ambience and feel! They have beers on tap that they brew right here!! We will be coming back in the summer to have a pint in the lovely garden area! Very short walk from Lumsdale Falls!!
