Tavern at GrayBarns

It's a great ambiance. It was a last minute reservation so I sat at the bar where the service was engaging. I got some cheerful input from Victoria on recommendations for food with drinks pairing. The food is upscale, pricey, and very well presented. Parsnip soup needed a little something extra, perhaps black pepper, but the Beets and Tagliolini dishes were great. A great place for a not-so-casual stop in.

What a shame. Such a beautiful location, but the smug, entitled staff treat you like they’re doing you a favor by having you there. It would be one thing if they had good food to back it up, but everything about it was underwhelming. Our waitress rushed us through our entire meal, had an impressively sour attitude, and topped it off by passive aggressively slamming a wine glass in front of my wife. Manager did nothing about the situation and had an attitude himself. Thank you Gray Barns for an absolutely miserable birthday experience! Stay away

I really want to like this place. We’ve been 4 times wanting to give it more chances and each time we’ve left feeling disappointed. The atmosphere is great, the service is good, but the food is just mediocre. It feels overpriced and the quality isn’t there. For this price point, there are plenty of other places in the area we’d prefer to go to.

We brought our son here for his birthday and who knew what an absolute gem like this existed in the Norwalk area. The presence, the warmth of the staff and the enthusiasm from beginning to end was amazing. We will be back soon for sure.

Food and ambience were great. However, the service needs some work. They stopped to clear our plates a total of 11, yes, ELEVEN! Times while we were still eating. Ruined the whole experience. Wait stag was ok but not particularly over the top to make up for the table clearing issue. The place wasn’t that full so it couldn’t be that they were rushed for a table. Regardless, at this price point, we should feel comfortable taking our time enjoying our meal.

Although the butter was served frozen, I must say that the overall experience was fantastic. The covered patio offered a magnificent ambiance with a breathtaking view. The service was exceptional and the cuisine was simply delightful.

Quite possibly the best restaurant in Connecticut. Everything is outstanding!! The spicy pasta dish is out of this world. The duck, incredible. The apps, uniquely tasty. The dessert, delectable. Incredible experience!!
