Small plates that were overall just fine, which was sad because I expect more than just fine from a Michelin star restaurant. Left hungry and disappointed because the experience was not worth the money. The Tyrian Sour was really good though, maybe would come back for just the bar.
We loved every moment of our dining experience! I was pregnant, so I had some food restrictions. (E.g., can't eat raw food, foods need to be cooked to tempt, no alcohols, etc.) The whole team was so accommodating and even brought me an entire new menu with things that they were willing to make a substitution for and things that they could do so I could enjoy the food. Even with accommodation/slight modifications, all the dishes were fabulous! Loved every minute of our dining experience.
A culinary gem where small plates delight, and family-sized dishes make the appetite ignite. Here, the wait staff shines, with service so grand, ready to meet any dietary demand. Friendly and accommodating, they truly excel, making each visit a memorable spell. Yes, it's pricey, a dent in the wallet, but for special moments, it's worth it to call it. A place where sharing is part of the charm, leaving taste buds dancing, wonderfully warm.
Fun dinner with my parents at@tailupgoat. This multi-course Mediterranean meal included a nice mix of pork, scallops, tuna, and many many veggies. Great place to go with 3 people so you can try most of the dishes on the menu. Their Bill's Dark and Stormy cocktail was delicious too! This Michelin star restaurant was definitely worth it!
Had an opportunity to dine at Tail Up Goat last night and it was an experience. The food was wonderfully crafted and waitress Alexia was superb. I will definitely refer any of my visiting friend. Parking: Parking is hard to find in the area but to be expected, this Adams Morgan!
Mediocre food, portions are small, i shouldn't be leaving hungry after dropping $300+ on a meal. Just walk down the street and get some empanadas or mcdonalds, i just saved you some money.
Unfortunately, this did not live up to expectations. I was expecting more flavor and “wow” from the food. The food was good, but nothing blew me away where I felt like I wanted more or was super impressed. I would NEVER have guessed this was a Michelin Star restaurant if I didn’t purposely make a reservation here due to it being Michelin rated. My boyfriend and I got the 4 course selected dinner meal, as we have been to other Michelin star restaurants. The beginner snacks did not impress me. My boyfriend liked the hummus bite on focaccia. We ordered the crispy salt cod which was one of the highlights. Very warm inside and good flavor as an appetizer to share. We got the tuna crudo & smoked black cod, neither were impressive. The lacked flavor and sauce. Then we got the seared scallop and pork croquette. These dishes tasty, but nothing that has me drooling. Next was the coffee rubbed beef tenderloin and seared halibut. The halibut needed more salt and pepper, it had a very bland flavor even with the lobster sauce around it. The tenderloin was cooked medium rare and was tasty with some potatoes on the side. These were surprisingly decent size portions. We ended with the Madeira custard and pecorino cake. They also brought a little custard caramel type truffle out as an anniversary treat. I did not like ANY of the desserts. All bland and blah, no pizazz. Due to the name of the restaurant and the Google description, I expected the dishes and flavors to be more Mediterranean or Greek inspired, but I was mistaken. I wanted to like this restaurant so badly, but I would never go back to spend the money. Luckily, our waitress Alexia was super sweet and fun to talk to. The atmosphere was relaxing, very clean and the bathrooms were nice. I was just highly disappointed with the food.
$500 for two is a lot of money, and Tail Up Goat is no Central. I would recommend the Pork Croquette as the best dish on the menu.
