Had a horrible dining experience last night (3/1/23). When my father asked for a fork to eat his dinner with, our server had the audacity to pickup our dirty shared appetizer plates we had neatly combined together for her convenience and offered a random fork to use from that. My father looked at her and said, "You want me to use a random person's fork from those plates to use?". She nodded in confirmation. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing/hearing. We took him out for his birthday and never thought we'd be disrespected like that in an establishment such as Taft's. To our server, you are in the hospitality business and it's obvious you should not be with the piss-poor attitude you presented my respectful and well mannered family. What a disgrace. 11/14/23- Tafts's, thanks for never responding to our bad dining experience. Now you have to close your doors for good. Karma :)
Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator to enter the building, though it may be necessary to either call the business or flag down a helper to get access to the ground floor door & elevator. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms also exist in the main dining area.
The building is beautiful and the food and drinks are delicious! Had the Tri-Tip Steak Salad and the meat was tender and not over cooked. Lots of picnic table seating and more seating on the upper loft.
Love this place. Sad to see it's closing
Sadly I write this review just a week shy of their permanent closure. My wife and I have been wanting to give Taft’s a try for a while now after seeing pictures of the inside! And I gotta say, it’s a real shame they’re closing! Taft’s Alehouse is located in an old, restored church and it’s absolutely beautiful! Everything from the stairs when you walk into to the giant windows that line the walls! The place is so unique and has so much character! I really hope another restaurant goes in after it. As far as the food goes, everything tasted good but I thought it was on the pricey side for sandwiches and what not but wasn’t out of reason. So, if you’re reading this before November 25th, go! Whether you’ve been before or it would be the first time, seeing the building itself is worth dining in one more time! If not, I’m sorry.
So sad that Taft's Ale House has closed. I have recommended it to everyone coming to Cincy. The history value of the place alone was worth the visit. Hope someone else will pick up this gem.
Excellent service and ambiance. The beer was adequate. The best part was the pretzel with cheese! We ordered two sandwiches, which were barely edible.
