This place has many characteristics of a shabu place. 1) The place is clean. 2) The ingredients taste healthy; fresh vegetables, housemade noodles; and the broth is not too heavy or oily 3) The seafood is fresh 4) There is bar seating. There is only bar seating with seats in a rectangle so you will be facing strangers if you look ahead. It is loud so keep that in mind; see if it's suitable for your dining occasion and who you are eating with. Cons: I wasn't impressed by the broth or meat quality. The place is expensive but they do have happy hour. Portions aren't too big. The service is pretty good and it's easy to flag them down because some staff will be in the center of the bar. I was almost leaning towards 3 stars but I think it's decent enough to try out once.
The broth, protein and veggies were fantastic. It is a unique shabu experience. Quite unlike any other in South bay.
The spicy miso broth is amazing. Truffle edamame is delicious.
Highly recommend the spicy miso broth and truffle edamame!
We've been here going on 10 times now and it has been an equally great experience every time. The whole staff is so patient, kind and attentive. The food is great - super flavorful broths, lots of fresh veggies and top quality meats. I love that they will refill broth as needed or package it up for leftovers. It's a good place to bring a group with varied eaters as everyone can really customize their experience. We eat early which is great because we usually hit their happy hour.
Stopped in for a Birthday treat for my daughter. It was our first time here so it was a little confusing and would have liked to be explained the process a little more. Did not really feel that was done as best as it could have been. Also, this is bar style rather than facing one another so in our party was hard to have conversations with those more than a seat or two away. We had come early and there was a happy hour which resulted in some saving (5-6pm). The service otherwise was fine. I found the place to be very clean and well appointed. The food otherwise was fair to good, I liked the pork bone broth and udon noodles. Meats were also acceptable and well presented. I would definitely consider coming back especially for happy hour but would not likely come at other times as I can see the pricing can quickly escalate especially with alcohol. Of note they do have a rewards program that we found out about later. Parking: Tight parking in the remarkably small front lot. I suspect this gets filled up very quick a little later in the evening.
Worst shabu ever. Problem is the broth and source. Meat and vegi is good but broth makes it worse.
Two out of the four borths are GF, they also offer GF Ponzu and Soy sauces and to top it off they have Shirataky noodles. In short this Shabu place is great for Celiacs. Oh, the very first question from the waitress was about allergies. I love this place ! Dietary restrictions: Great for Celiacs
