This was great! Sushi was fresh and service was nice.
Hey they get my business at least once a week. Those sweet baby carrots
Just moved to Charlotte from FL and I had a fav place to go back home for yummy sushi and hibachi… First time at this place and I was amazed. FOOD WAS AWESOME ! I got the salmon & shrimp hibachi Andddd they have a bar?!?!?! Will be back! Thanks guyssss
An OK place to eat overall. We arrived for late dinner at 8:00pm. Food took forever to come out. Hostess & server were nice. The miso soup, veg tempura, rainbow roll, and seaweed salad were all good. The mix platter of sashimi & tuna sushi was below average for quality - something has not right with the salmon. I also had GI discomfort that night, which I have never had after eating sashimi & sushi from other restaurants. I don’t like the open concept and industrial feel of the restaurant; though the art on the walls and the murals were cool. Vegetarian options: Many choices. Parking: Big parking lot that is part of the shopping center. Kid-friendliness: Had kid high chairs and booster. Wheelchair accessibility: One level restaurant and wide space between tables.
While the food came out tasting pretty good, the service was atrocious. I placed an online order and came just a few minutes after my scheduled time that the order was said to be ready. This was a 40 minute wait between ordering and scheduled pickup time, which was average for the busy night I believed. It was then once I waited another hour standing in the store that I started to become frustrated. I spoke to staff members several times asking for any update, and none was give until right as the food finally came out. I asked if I could speak to someone and get an answer on the wait time. I was just told that the manager was working in the kitchen and could not attend any questions at the moment. Overall, the wait was just over 1hr 45 minutes. I’d like to say I was alone but there were several other patrons that were over the hour mark when speaking to them as well. Based off this experience, I would not recommend.
Some of the best sushi I have had in Charlotte . Really a nice surprise !
The restaurant itself was very pleasant and nicely decorated. The orange dragon cocktail on special for $5 was very yummy and had a decent amount of booze in it. We ordered 5 rolls of sushi, and I was less than thrilled with the way they tasted. I'm not a huge fan of 'fusion' sushi, but I have occasionally tasted some nice unexpected combinations.... the ones we choose were only 'ok'. IMHO scallions, tajin, hot sauce, and truffle oil are not ingredients that I expect on my sushi... and frankly some of the flavors were downright overwhelming (I could not get over the salmon sashimi slathered in truffle oil). The 'spicy tuna' was so spicy that my lips were actually burning lol... never had that happen before. I mean, the roll tasted good.... but holy cow, that was like hot wings spicy. I didn't expect the 'spicy' rolls to be so spicy that they would knock my socks off, so we ordered 4 of them with some kind of 'spicy tuna/salmon' on them and there was pretty much nothing to eat that wasn't on fire In the end, the server was excellent and really upheld the integrity of the restaurant by ensuring that we were satisfied. I will give them stars for customer service and creativity, although it's just not what I look for when I'm trying to eat sushi.
