Had a nice meal today, not the regular hamburger food. Spent more then usual, the amount of food they provided we had to take it home. Just wanted something different for dinner today. ( eat inside )
I was at a nearby hotel for work and searched for sushi nearby. Based on menu options and reviews, I came to Sushi Kuma and it was bomb! The fish was super fresh, perfect sauces, and everything melted in my mouth. When I arrived, I was the only one there because it was later in the evening. The service was friendly and hospitable. I’m so thankful they stayed open to their stated hours so I could enjoy this place. I’ll be back.
Quiet place. Very good sushi rolls.
I order from here every weekend! Best sushi place around :)
Tried the Fairway and Playboy rolls and really enjoyed them!
What do you think of when you read "bibimbap"? If you think of seasoned meat/tofu, blanched and salted veggies, and hot rice, we have the same thought. I expected some kind of version of that, but sadly I was presented with a bowl of bland tofu crumble, raw and cold shredded salad ingredients (raw and shredded green cabbage, red cabbage, carrots, and whole spinach leaves) and plain rice. Pros? The rice was warm and the veggies looked fresh, also it was colorful. It came with the usual gochujang sauce, but sadly it was so mild in both heat and flavor that I had to ask for another sauce. I got teriyaki, which also tasted bland and it was kind of... gelatinous? Not-properly-emulsified, I guess. I can only liken it to a non-dressed, dry side salad (yes, the side salad you get with a bento box) in a huge bowl with rice and tofu bits. It was such a dry, bland, sad meal with odd-flavored miso soup. The server was nice but seemed so shy. He never made eye contact and spoke quietly. He was staring at the TV and talking with his coworkers much of the time while we needed some attention, but honestly it wasn't too bad. This was the second chance we gave this restaurant. We also didn't like our food much the first time. Won't be back.
This is hands down our favorite sushi place. We live in the Sierra Nevada so we come down the hill a few times a year to eat here. The servers are kind, helpful, courteous, and always have a smile for you. The food is always amazing.
