Good not great but nice local option
Flavor was generally good (parts of it great). I ordered the braised duck, which was terribly lacking in portion. It almost looked like a joke, with a very small portion of protein and not even 1/2 of a breast and 1/10th of a carrot and fennel. The carrot really emphasized how cartoonishly small the dish was. The gastrique was quite good, but that can't make up for leaving a restaurant hungry. The fact that they have valet parking for a ten step walk to the restaurant is also off-putting. We definitely liked the calamari, and our waitress was good. Having owners involved running in the establishment out front seems like it should be a great enhancement, but I really don't understand how they can miss these details that detract from their restaurant so greatly. I shared my concerns with our waitress, who again was generally good, but she didn't seem to take seriously that I don't think I'll be back because of this experience. I'm happy to pay $100+ for a good meal, and it wouldn't have taken much to make it worth it. Parking: Why have valet in a 7-11 sized lot?
Cute stone house in the middle of colleyville. The atmosphere is cozy, with a small fireplace during the winter. The staff is very friendly. There's a good wine and alcohol selection, with a decent sized bar to sit at while waiting for a table. The food has always been delicious, with a more upscale, but not pretentious feel. The prices are higher than chain steak restaurants, but you're getting a more unique and tailored experience. Attire is flexible with people dressing up or comfortably casual. Free valet is available. Reservations recommended.
Fantastic service and an excellent menu. Salmon is amazing, but it's hard to go wrong with anything. If no res, go early to get a spot at the bar or outside lounge. Updated review, this place still excels at service.
Visited Dallas and carefully searched for a spot where I could thoroughly enjoy a dining experience. Stone House nailed it! Drink Appetizer Entree and Dessert Thankful! This NOLA girl highly recommends this restaurant!
My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. It was our first time to try it. We were both very impressed. Great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious cuisine! We will definitely be back!
Great venue for cocktails and dinner. Best bartender in town.
The service was excellent and we love the patio location outback. That said, we were expecting a lot more on the food. It was all just okay, but for the prices they were charging, I was expecting top notch cuisine. The calamari for example, was a bit rubbery, and had these little sprouts sprinkled on top that just wilted right away. Just doesn't seem like a good choice. My wife had a salad which seemed just like your standard small collection of mixed greens with a few nuts and a little blue cheese. Again, it was fine, maybe coming from my own kitchen, but not for 12 bucks. Pecans could be roasted and perhaps candied or spiced. Add some sprigs of fresh dill or a little bit of apple or orange. Something so it's not just a boring salad from home. Both of our fish entrees were served on what seemed like very plain and flavorless white rice. There are so many more interesting starches to put on a plate than plain rice. The fish part part of the entrees were both well cooked. And yes, the Brussels sprouts were disappointing. They were whole and didn't seem like they the had hard stems from the bottom cut. They would cook so much better cut in half. And usually my expectation is that these are roasted or fried, to be tender but also lighter and a little crisp. These were dense and soggy. So all in all, nice ambiance if you're on the patio, but inside seems very crowded and loud. I'm not opposed to spending money on great food, but to me, this place simply doesn't deliver.
