Shitty service on a slow day. The waiter was too busy talking to his friend to serve the 4 people in the entire restaurant. Wrong order, no refills on drinks plus a 20% gratuity. Never returning.
I went here on a date earlier this evening, and, while they were understaffed, there was zero communications with us about timing (hey sorry it's taking a while, we'll be with you soon! etc) and we were left just sitting at our table for over 40 minutes without the drinks we ordered. We got our appetizer before the drinks (about 30 minutes in)... I totally empathize with waiters but 40 minutes was too long for us to get simple drinks and we decided to leave to make the best of our time. We told the waiter, no hard feelings, but we needed to be leaving, and offered to pay for the appetizer we were served. He threw what I can only call a "fit" and said you can see we're understaffed and your stuff is already being made!!! (the two simple drinks we ordered almost an hour ago? huh) and he was just very aggressive even though we tried to explain this wasn't personal, we just didn't have this much time. The man told us don't bother to pay for the appetizer (we were happy to pay for them... it felt like just an angry outburst on his part.. we simply weren't going to wait longer for drinks which is why we came out to begin with). We went to Queen Vic and got drinks within 3 minutes... I get that there will be hard days, understaffed days, but this waiter (manager? idk) was was defensive and accusatory towards us for wanting to leave rather than apologetic and understanding when we finally just needed to leave (again, we had been seated for 40 minutes... no drinks; in between this time, no communication with us... we were just left wondering uh did they forget about us?). I hope things get better for this place and the clearly overbooked workers, but after this experience, I won't be going back.
The food is always great here! The staff is friendly and engaging too. Sticky Rice is a whole vibe.
Service was good, food was average at best. Didn't used to be that way. Ordered mock chicken noodles and the mock chicken was small, all burnt bread, and no protein like a carry out french fry and the vegan nigiri was very overpriced for what it was. Very disappointed I paid that much.
I'm married to a Brit and this place is the real deal. The baggers and mash and the lamb Sunday roast are my go to, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
The shrimp Singapore noodles are the bomb me and my husband enjoy will be back again. Thanks. God Blessings
Godzirra roll🤤I hate to play favorites, but this is the one. I loved working here, and to anyone there that night, I had to knock that drunk patron out. Thanks for understanding it was self-defense. I'm the security. The guy was over 6ft 220+attacking when my back was turned on the way out the door I didn't mean to leave him crumbled on the concrete but he asked for it. That blue motorcycle will get us.
Amazing food and the wait isn't long.
good food , cocktails & great comfy atmosphere , love the 90s rnb music too
Fish was not fresh. Food was bland and lack flavor. Basically eating, steamed rice. Manager was not helpful and in fact unnecessarily combative.
I love this restaurant! Been eating here for years, love the food staff was accommodating for my family with 2 small children, great atmosphere.
Such a cute little place, and a vegan sushi lovers dream. 😍 There are so many options - everything from inari to simple veggie rolls to plant-based "tuna" and "eel" rolls to an entire vegan sashimi plate! I make the trek down here from PA once a year for my birthday and I always fill up on enough sushi to last me until the next year. +
Worst sushi ever - you can get better ones from food court or grocery stores. Restaurant looks greasy and unclean, restroom is filthy.
20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill while the service was nothing more than pointing you to scan the bar code, taking the order and bringing the food to table.
