Got to try this joint out recently on a work trip, and boy was it bomb! The service is top tier, and coming from the service industry myself you can tell they are really passionate about their biz. Hubs had the pulled pork and I went for chicken, and both were awesome. Will def be a staple when I return to IL!

This place had great food last time we went, so decided to try it again. We sit down and the waitress tells us we need to give a credit card before we order? Of course won’t be going back with this stupid policy but your food was very good.

Been coming there for past few years with mixed reviews. Today was by far the absolute worst experience ever. Got there and had to go inside to order and pay. Stood in line and a woman walked to the front of the 5 deep line. She told the man in front of me that she was talking to a friend at the front and felt that gave her the right to order her drink. There was no organization to ordering or paying. I ordered our food after standing in line for 20 minutes. Food showed up relatively quickly. There were 2 of us…. No eating utensils so i asked for them…. Waitress comes back and throws 6 on them the table. I then asked for sour cream. She brings it back at that time I asked for bbq sauce… she said they did not any. My boyfriend said they we cant eat our bbq without it. I asked her if she could find some. In the meantime i noticed another patron at the bar who appeared to be done and they kindly shared. The waitress never came back but another girl did and said she realized what was going on and was super nice and friendly. While we were chatting with her the manager on duty came over and asked us to give her staff grace. I said excuse me do you know what has transpired and she said no but that her staff deserved grace. How does the manager who did not see any of what is going come over and ask me to give her staff grace? For asking for the necessities of eating at your location. She is absolutely not qualified to handle issues that may arise at a restaurant. The other girl was handling it just fine. I asked the manager for her managers name and she directed me to info@southwestbarbecue no such thing exists. I have NEVER in my life asked for a refund and walked away from food on the table but the managers demeanor was so uncalled for we not feel we did not a choice. We asked for a refund and did get it. Terrible way to treat your customers!!!

Fun outdoors venue. Broasted chicken and garlic sandwich were very good. Service was good and friendly. It was very busy due to the great weather and the staff did what they could to get everyone served as quick as possible. As I read a different reviews, I agree, this is not a 5 star, it is a diner, drive inn, dive kind of place. A fun family oriented venue where anyone can feel at home. They really raised their game when bringing in the grill and fryer. The Pork belly burger is now one of my favorites also. If you have had a bad experience in the past, I recommend trying again. They keep improving.

We waited a hour and forty minutes and never got our food!! So many people came in and were getting served before us with 2 small children, we were literally forgotten about and still charged full price for our drinks and our children’s drink! We left without any food. Such bullcrap! Do better!!!!

I really like this spot but can't give it 5 stars as that's not what they're about. They're not a 5 star place. It's not a 4 star place. It's a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives kinda joint. It's just a cool spot to hang and have some decent food and drinks. I have to say I was shocked at how much I loved the smoked Italian beef. Flavor wise not what you're expecting but holy great taste. The Cubano was crazy good. Broasted chicken was juicy but crispy on the outside. I was shocked at how much we enjoyed hanging out here. Will def be back!

This is not the first time but it will be my last time!! They were out of pulled pork and that consists on their menu just a few! Pork boat. Cuban. Moo and oink. This is why the Yorkville people need a good BBQ place. It’s just not this one. Brian
