Loved everything about this restaurant except that it’s a bit loud in there.

We had a great dinner at SHŌTŌ! The service was phenomenal, food was exceptional, drink pairings delicious, all around great experience! There is a dress code, so be aware. No shorts for men, no flip flops, sportswear, overly casual dress.

This was a great experience, although this time around I had to be here and eat by myself I was treated very respectfully. The food was great and even though the place was packed I waited around 5-8 minutes for my food. All the host or hostesses constantly made sure my drinks were full and picked up any plates that were dirty. As I said very good service and food was outstanding the Wagyu Maki & Uni were excellent. Yes it might be expensive but it's worth going there at least once to check it out

Went here to celebrate my 35th birthday, they called to confirm my reservation and verify I was aware of their dress code that was outlined on their website and during their booking confirmation. They asked me was I celebrating anything. I told them I was celebrating my birthday. My reservation was 6;30 pm, rush hour in dc traffic. Parking is horrible in their area. I was about 13 mins late. They called me again to verify my reservation. I walk in and they sit me at the end of the Susie bar next the the employee walk ways and service trash area. For me noting on my reservation and telling staff I was celebrating a birthday this was a let down

I was skeptical of Shoto. Typically when a restaurant seems trendy and has a lengthy menu, the food lacks. I was pleasantly surprised this was not the case. I ordered multiple dishes. The tofu and Japanese eggplant rolls were both incredible. My favorite of the night. The tofu had this wonderful soft texture on the inside and wasn't overly fried on the outside. Perfect. The eggplant was bursting with flavor. However, skip the vegan sushi. It's nothing special. You're better off ordering the more unique dishes.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great time.
