Shepherds Inn Melmerby

Had Sunday lunch at the Shepherd's Inn as part of 70th birthday celebrations. A great choice. The decor was welcoming and stylish. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and Mike catered for vegan and gluten-free members of our party. It was lovely to meet him and have a quick chat when he emerged from the kitchen to make sure everything was okay. Recommended.

Fantastic food served in generous portions by very helpful waiting staff. Well worth a visit to this little gem of a hostelry if you're in and around the Penrith area .

Great Sunday lunch for 9 of us with a good selection of meals and beers to suit all, very friendly staff.

Spur of the moment decision to travel cross country from NW to NE prompted us to become reacquainted with this pub which we hadn't visited for many years when the landlord (Martin from memory) served up the best pint of Marston's Pedigree backed up by a superb food menu. Luckily there was an available table plus a welcome for our dog. Great atmosphere with warm log fire and the food was superb as was the friendly and efficient service. Will definitely be revisiting in the near future. Parking: Plenty of space
