Amazing food, drink, and service. I couldn't fault the dining experience at Sexy Fish, and great service provided by Sophie. 5 Stars all day long

EDIT 7th April 2024: At the bottom my review and comments were left after a very first visit at this place and I gave 5 stars, however, I am changing my review to 1 star after the second visit. Some people are leaving 1 star reviews here due to rude and cocky staff and here I am, leaving the 1 star review for the exact same reason. This place seriously need to re consider their policies. So we booked a table for 4 people for my step daughter's birthday lunch on the 6th April 1pm as we were on the way to Manchester for some shopping and a day out and I thought I'd love for her and her friend to experience Sexy Fish as she would appreciate the decor and food. Called the restaurant on the way and booked the table for lunch for 1pm. It was me (male) and 3 females (my wife, my stepdaughter and her friend). We're all dressed in an expensive designer clothing and didn't think anything of it. However, I was wearing Gucci trainers and Amiri hoody, but didn't think anything of it as it's day time and we're going there for a lunch, so didn't feel like I need to dress up with smart pants, shirt etc. Just like last time, at the entrance door we were greeted by a very impressively dressed door man with a smile and politeness, however as soon as we walked up to the reception I got looked up and down by two reception girls and they said that hoodies are not allowed and asked me to remove the hoody. I nicely answered that I don't wear anything underneath it and I really can't take it off, but then the girl said they can give me one of the tshirts at the back and I said please don't insult me like this, I am not wearing anyone's tshirt, to which they answered that then we're not allowed to enter. I seriously couldn't believe what I'm hearing. They said it's the policy that they don't allow hoodies. I said, it's daytime though, we're here only for a lunch and it's for my step daughter's birthday lunch? They didn't care though. So we went outside, but the doorman came out with us, apologising his heart out and asked us to give us a second, he said he will try to speak to them as he remember me coming with couple business partners previously for a lunch. He came back out with a sad face and said sorry, I tried, but they said no. The other posh places in Manchester had the same policy for a very short time, but they changed it as they realised that it's a stupid policy. I would totally understand this policy being applied for evening dinners, but definitely not for casual lunch. The place definitely deserves low review rating and as a business owner myself It's completely might blowing why they would turn thousands of pounds away and embarrass their customers like this. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I can't believe that there's people here giving our 1 star reviews saying the food was 'horrible', the staff were rude, the staff don't know what they are doing etc. Was your food really HORRIBLE??? I mean for Christ sake, I deal with such Karens in my business on a daily basis and it really made me laugh because it just shows that you will NEVER and I mean NEVER make everyone happy, no matter how good your services are. 6 of us went there for a meal (3 couples), we were welcomed by the doorman at the front and then by two receptionists, they made us feel very special right away. The interior inside the restaurant is amazing, definitely spent a lot of money there. Had few drinks at the bar and then they took us to our table. The staff were quite knowledgeable, gave us a lot of suggestions regarding food and drinks. And I have to say, the food was absolutely amazing, all 6 of us thought that the food was right at the top out of all restaurants we've been to in Manchester and other cities (at the same or higher caliber). The food is very expensive, but to be honest in the end the bill didn't look as bad as we expected for what we've ordered and for 6 of us. We were all very impressed and laughed at the reviews on the way out. We will definitely be coming back and we can definitely see why it's so hard to get a table at this place. The guys are amazing.

I took my 10 year old daughter to the Sunday Brunch. We both loved it! The food, atmosphere and staff were all 10/10. Everyone was so friendly and attentive and made my daughter feel so special. The food just keeps on coming. You can visit the sushi buffet as often as you want to, however all the other food included keeps on coming so make sure you go there feeling hungry. Then just when you think you can't eat any more, the most amazing pudding is served. We spent over 2 and a half hours there. It would also be perfect as a date or girls brunch. We both can't wait to go back.

Went for brunch at 3:30. There was delay so we wasn’t sat down until 4ish what isn’t a problem… but by the time we sat down and had a chance to get our deal what we paid for “unlimited sushi” it was all gone.. we was told in a very rushed manner “grab what you can get. No more coming out” so we ended up having scraps of the sushi. The staff was very nice except that one innocent, nobody clocked on that our delay caused by other people effected our time and experience. We just felt incredibly rushed and didn’t get what we paid for what’s a shame. I should have said something but I didn’t want to be a Karen. But I did spend a lot of money for a not great experience

The menu clearly indicated dishes that were served raw undercooked with an asterisk and noted associated risks. Despite our vigilance and voiced concern due to pregnant guests, we still encountered raw chicken skewers and uncooked salmon without the star sign warning. When we raised the issue, the staff insisted the food was cooked, which was not the case. We felt unwelcome and disregarded ,instead of receiving an apology. We requested a partial refund, but the manager,was unhelpful and defensive. She stated that refunds are not provided, despite the money owed to us on the bill, which they declined to return for our pre paid meal. We left hungry, disappointed by the unexpected and unpleasant experience at a supposedly high-end restaurant. The photos of the raw chicken and undercooked salmon is attached.
