This used to be what I considered the best Chinese restaurant in STL. I am guessing ownership has changed and now I will not even eat there. I am disappointed that this restaurant has taken the quality and operations and complete went the opposite direction. I have waited many visits before writing this since I was a loyal customer for decades. To many issues to list, but my family and friends have banned Sesame due to the quality change.
Food quality was decreased substantially under the new owners. Found something hard in Eggplant Szechwan. Not going back.
I really hate to do this but this place needs to do a better job being a restaurant that serves FOOD. I had some kind of gravel in my kung pao chicken. The chicken was so stinky that I couldn’t take more than 2 bites, I threw the rest away. Now I need to detail my car or find some way to clean it.
The food sucks. We ordered 60.00 worth of food and threw it in the trash expeditiously. The rice had weird peas and carrots in it. The fried rice wasn't dark like fried rice. The pot stickers were gross, and the egg roll was filled with some weird textured meat. The service was very nice and friendly. I personally will never be back.
The atmosphere is lacking, but the service and food is top notch. I haven't had better sesame chicken anywhere.
