Our story begins in Cotija, Mexico over sixty years ago. David Ruiz used to ride his bike around town, balancing a large box of fresh-baked bread on his head, since there were very little cars around at the time. As he delivered his breads to local corner stores, he learned about authentic Mexican food. Fast forward twenty years and David is living in the seaside town of San Diego, California. He misses the food he grew up with so he opened Cotija’s Mexican Food. Named after his birthplace, Cotija’s brought the most exciting dishes from that small Mexican town to his new American home.
