Segovia’s is open 7 days/week 7pm - 2am. We’re the oldest bar/tavern on the Monterey Peninsula, spanning four generations. In 1937, Spanish immigrants Al and Rose Segovia opened the doors to newly established “Al’s Place” and quickly became the go-to spot amongst the locals. Prior to opening, Al was a greens-keeper at Cypress Point and Rose worked in the sardine canneries just down the hill. Monterey had quite a distinct smell in those days when the sardines were abundant. She used to say it’s the sweet stench of success! In 1964 they changed the name and opened Segovia’s Cocktails. Come on in, order up a fine beverage & have a seat next to the fire where Steinbeck used drink! Be a part of history!
