I love this place! Whether you're enjoying your meal inside or outside in the patio, you will love the atmosphere! Food is delicious, servers are awesome!
We will be back! Our first experience with Sa*Vor was absolutely incredible. Knowledgeable wait staff, food was clean and prepared on point, atmosphere in the evening on the patio was just what we were looking for in a quiet intimate type evening. We recommend the Charcuterie board followed by the Parrillada Mixta (with both shrimp and scallops- after all, why have to choose?) followed by the Burnt Basque Cheesecake (a well balanced end to a well balanced beginning and middle)
Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food, great service (thanks Brianna!), comfortable atmosphere and music. They even have a doggy menu!!!
Here’s the thing about Savor: the incredible ambiance and thoughtfully curated menu are just the beginning of an exceptional experience.
Last year, they offered pasta classes, and nearly everything is made in-house. From artisan cocktails to the perfect patio, dinner under the stars, and brunch served seven days a week, Savor consistently delivers inventive specials. Most impressively, you forget you’re in the heart of West Texas!
Today, I had the Smoked Chorizo Stew, a special dish not typically on the menu. It was one of the most beautifully presented plates I’ve had in Amarillo. While the flavors needed a bit more development—the smokiness was subtle, and I missed the depth of complexity I was hoping for—it was still delicious. Special dishes can be challenging to perfect, especially stews that need time to develop their full flavor. The general manager, Mike Bartels, stopped by to ask for feedback and then brought out their homemade bread to pair with the stew. The bread was spot on—crispy and flaky on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. It helped balance the dish perfectly.
Their fall drink menu was excellent. I enjoyed an apple cinnamon cocktail that paired nicely with the creamy chorizo sauce.
Having dined at Savor half a dozen times, I’m always impressed by their innovative menu and the team’s creativity in keeping things fresh. While not every visit is flawless, I respect their willingness to take risks. I’ll definitely continue returning, eager to try something new each time.
The service is impeccable. Atmosphere is dim and sexy. Grabbed a comfy chair at the bar and had the most delicious old fashioned! The food has gone beyond all measuring cups and points at a romantic dinner for two! Bring your friends and loved ones and get hip to Amarillo’s fine dining magic!
Yikes. A sharp downhill slide since opening. Especially in service.
- Served beer at the table in a bottle and didn't offer a glass
- Pulpo was extremely chewy and not what it should be when done correctly
- No serving utensils provided with the tapas. When asked. They provided normal sized spoons. How is that supposed to work?
- Temperature control on plates was poor. Lots of lukewarm to warm plates coming out. Makes sense given how fast they came out. Worrying for seafood however.
- Not a great job at clearing out the table of small plates as we finished them, leading to the table becoming cluttered until we asked.
Needs the attention of an experienced restaurant manager to train and manage the staff. Disappointing.
The pros:
Great menu. A mix of Spain cuisine with Latin influences.
The paella with salmon & shrimp was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. The flavor was on point.
My friend had the pulpo and she enjoyed it.
The cons:
Just be prepared to wait for the food to come out.
We did get there at the end of the day and I had made modifications to the paella but we waited a good hour for the food to come out. We did end up taking the food to go because we needed to hit the road.
Besides that everything was great.
Delicious tapas, portions were generous. Salmon salad, salmon was fat, meaty and tasty. Servers were friendly and professional. Feels like you’re in Spain sitting outside on the patio. Brought my small dog with me and was thrilled they have a “dog menu”!!!
Mike Bartles and his crew did an awesome job and the whole experience was perfect! We will definitely be back.. GREAT high end date night spot!
Who would have thought there was a tapas bar in Amarillo?! We stopped here on a road trip and had to try it-they were dog friendly and even had a menu especially for pups!!!! Lovely food, great service and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Passing through with dogs in tow. Do yourself a favor and make the stop. All animals will love!
My boyfriend and I went to a Dinner in the Dark on a Friday in July. You know nothing about the menu, so I’d say these events are best for someone culinarily adventurous. I mean, our first bite was escargot! The entire food and drink menu turned out to be great and at $150 for 5 courses and 2 drinks (a person), I have to say that’s reasonable.
They have a dog menu! We were able to stop and see family in our way home from vacation with our 2 kids and 2 dogs. They have a lovely patio, and even though it was nearly 100°F we were very comfortable.
