A traditional and hearty meal from Gujarat, India. Featuring a variety of flavors and textures. This thali includes 3 shaaks (vegetable dishes), such as sev tomato, ringan bharthu, and Lasan Bataka. A Farshan, a type of savory snack, is also included, such as khaman. For dessert, a traditional sweet like Gulab Jamun is served. The thali also includes kadi, a yogurt-based curry, and roti or rotlo, a type of bread, for dipping and mopping up the various dishes. Papdi, a type of fried pastry, and khichdi, a porridge made with rice and lentils, round out the meal. The meal is completed with chaas, a yogurt-based drink.
