Sans Liege (sahn leej) or “without allegiance” aptly describes owner/winemaker Curt Schalchlin’s tenacity to pursue wine-making on the central coast unhindered by the trappings of any particular style. Sans Liege focuses on Rhone varietals (think Grenache, Syrah, Viognier) & favors character over notoriety in its vineyard selections which span from Paso Robles to Santa Barbara County. The Sans Liege Tasting Room in Pismo Beach offers tastings as well as wine by the glass or bottle.
