Usually love the Rye bakery but don't try and go for a morning coffee when they open. Opening hours say 8.45. It didn't open until 8.55 and then when we finally got in they said coffee would be 10 more mins as it wasn't set up. Had to walk away empty handed. Other customers also waiting said it happens all the time.
Heart of the community. Frome is very lucky to have this beautiful bakery. It feels like a welcoming and inclusive space for people of all ages.
The food and drink were delicious and with fair prices. We loved that they were so dog friendly. Such a gem to have found when on holiday - our only complaint is that you aren't closer to where we live! Will definitely be back if visiting the area again!
Lovely venue. Food just isn't great. Came here before and wasn't impressed but thought we'd give it another chance. Chocolate almond croissant.... Sounds lovely but incredibly bitter and unpleasant. Even the kids didn't like it and they love anything with sugar. No chai latte on the menu seems a bit puzzling.
When in Frome, you have to pop in. The bread, the pastries, the brunch options are all delightful. The queue is a little on the long side (at least at the weekend), but it is worth it!
Edit: Been a few times since my previous review and it's been very pleasant. Lovely coffee and pastries, along with a warm atmosphere even when it's busy - the gallery upstairs is also worth a visit. I came here to pick up some surplus baked goods through Too Good To Go. I'm quite new to the app and found myself to be unpunctual for my collection. The chap at the till was very accomodating in my naivety so kudos to him for his patience. Amazing food - I'll have to come next time for a drink too
Lovely place serves a variety of choices of bakery, simple meals, coffee, and tea. I have been here twice for bakery and coffee. My friends and I tried several bakery items which are ok. We think the cookies and cinnamon bun are good. The good rating is for their coffee. It would be a good place for a chill when you are in Frome.
