Went to Ruth’s Chris in Asheville this last Sunday and it was an amazing experience. It was my first time in, as well as my birthday. We had a party of five total and we all were blown away at the stellar service from the staff as a whole, our waiter Dan as well as the food. Everything came out perfectly cooked, with beautiful presentation. You have to try the lobster Voodoo. It was amazing. Dan was patient with us and very knowledgeable of the menu. My drink didn’t empty a single time. Dan made us feel right at home. we will be back for more special occasions. Complements to the chef for the beautiful, delicious food , and all of Ruth Chris staff for the perfect birthday experience.

Ordered 2 steaks, 1 petite filet, 1 11 0z filet. The 11 oz was cooked medium as requested, but the petite was over cooked and tough. They of course replaced the petite, but this takes the fun out of a special night out. The service was excellent. The creme Brule was great, the cheese cake excellent. You of course go for the world famous steaks, and expect more from the preparation since you are paying top dollar. We have visited many Ruth Chris restaurants in the south over time, and this was only the second problem encountered with preparation. This will not keep me from visiting again.

I love Ruth's Chris and over the years have probably dined at 70 or 75 of their restaurants in the U.S., Canada and elsewhere. I and some longtime friends had dinner at Ruth's Chris in October 2023, and overall we enjoyed the experience. The drinks, wedge salad, potatoes and other sides were all great. Service was good. What we did NOT enjoy was the way the chef had cut the NY Strip and the Ribeye steak. Instead of having a beautiful, thick, richly marbled Strip and Ribeye, broiled to a perfect medium rare at 1800 degrees, the chef apparently had decided to cut the steaks into thin sections, chopping the steak in half horizontally. The lovely thick NY Strip, for example, was only about 3/4 of an inch thick and it was served warm, not hot and sizzling with butter the way Ruth did it. This was truly weird. The whole idea behind Ruth's Chris is to enjoy the thick, rich U.S. Prime steak, served sizzling. As a longtime friend and associate of Ruth's Chris founder Ruth Fertel, I know she would roll over in her grave in Metairie, LA, if she knew the current franchise operators of Ruth's Chris Asheville were treating their expensive Prime beef this way. Please, go back to the way Ruth showed you how to prepare and broil a Prime steak.

Pricey, but you know that going in. Food and service was excellent. Wish I could remember our server's name, because she deserves a shout out.
