RETAIL BEER - SMOKE
SCHLENKERLA EICHE OAK SMOKE, Rauchbier
(Germany / 8.0% / 16 oz. / 4 Pack) Following century old recipes all malts made at the Schlenkerla brewery are dried by wood fire. While for the classic âAecht Schlenkerla Rauchbierâ traditionally beech has been â and still is â used, the malt for Schlenkerla Eiche (known as âOak Smokeâ) is kilned with oak wood. The resulting Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in âSchlenkerla Oak Smokeâ is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. With 8% ABV and amber color it matures for months in the deep brewery cellars underneath Bamberg into a special treat for smoke beer lovers.
$6.00
SCHLENKERLA ERLE, Rauchbier
(Germany / 4.2% / 16 oz. / Single) Schwarzbier has been around since at least the 16th century and was once more widespread than it is today. Schlenkerla used a very special smoked malt for their version of this classic black lager. This is not dried over a beech wood fire as usual, but over an alder wood fire. The alder-smoked malt brings a fine, complex smoky flavor to the beer, which is less strong and spicy than some of their other offerings. A high proportion of roasted malt ensures a pronounced roasted aroma and the dark, almost black color.
$5.00
SCHLENKERLA FASTENBIER, Rauchbier

In the drink the fullbodied, highly drinkable lentbeer shows its strong malty flavour, rounded up with the smokey taste and a light bitterness.

SCHLENKERLA URBOCK, Rauchbier
(Germany / 6.5% / 16.9 oz. / Single) Aecht Schlenkerla Urbock is the complex sibling of the classic MĂ€rzen smokebeer. Exactly like the classic all its barley malts are smoked over beech wood logs. Its higher smokemalt concentration and longer maturation in the 700 year old cellars underneath Bramburg create a taste profile of most intense smokiness beautifully balanced with deep malt sweetness.
$6.00
SCHLENKERLA WEIZEN, Rauchbier
(Germany / 5.2% / 16.9 oz. / Single) Schlenkerla Smokebeer Wheat is an ale with light smoky aroma. As Bavarian wheat beers, it is being brewed with a mixture of both barley malt and wheat malt.
