Rustic Inn Crabhouse

Not for prissy people! Get used to grease running up your arms. Work hard cracking shells. The work is half the taste Excellent conch chowder also. I have no idea of the rest of the food. Definitely dress down

We had crab and grilled shrimp; both meals were wonderful. Our server, Eli, was absolutely the best server we've had in a long time! Eli suggested menu items, drinks, and desert; everything was exceptional! Casual and fun dining experience with great food and service!

A fun lively atmosphere with wonderful seafood. Excellent jumbo shrimp. And I don’t know how they make their potatoes taste so good! Stone crab was in season yum! The waiter was fun, the key lime sublime. Just go!

"Fra Diavolo" seafood platter it wasn't a "Fra Diavolo". And the server said that "we only make it that way if you ask for"... But it is stated so in the menu... ( it means spicy) and this was just one of them. The seafood, including lobster with the claws, shrimp mussels and crab clusters.. all overcooked. After paying all that money, only one at our table was happy with his food. I left hungry and bought wings of the way. Will not go back to this place which came highly recommended. Life's too short for bad food. Sorry

. . . . . but, still very good. Went with another couple on a Sunday evening. The overhead "your table is now available" is very shrill and way too loud. VERY spartan bar drink menu - No Johnnie Red - only Johnnie Black and at $12!? Ordered a Stinger but did not have the ingredients. Ordered a Gin and soda - got a gin and tonic. Sent it back but it was on the bill until I asked to have it removed. Gravel strewn parking lot was a challenge to walk/navigate. Had the Shrimp Scampi - generous portion, well presented, and tasty; but at $23 it should be! Out of soap and towels in the mens' room - had to use the blower. Door opens in so you have to grip the handle to exit (yuck!). Bread for the table was a toasted hoagie roll - had to ask for it - not sure if there was a charge. Atmosphere is VERY loud - hard to hear conversation. Others in the group thought it was, "Okay." Me, too. But, as I said above, somethins' changed and not for the better.

"Just fair and Pricey" We haven't been there in years and years. Started with a combination of frogs' legs and alligator bites. Just ok. My wife ordered a special. Coconut Shrimp, 10 large shrimp butterflied. She liked them. My friend and I split one of their specialties, Golden garlic crabs. 2 pounds for $48.00, definitely not worth it. They tasted like they had been frozen, mealy . Also had a side of linguine with red crab sauce, probably the best thing that night. Never again. Plus it is very popular for birthday which they announce over the intercom and everybody pounds their mallets on the table. Not for me.

"Rustic Inn" is a landmark, I have dined inside, and on the deck. This time I was lucky and Susan & I got a table on the water outside. They have a very good menu. Instead of the blue crabs, we both had snapper, cold slaw, ice tea. A very good meal and value.

Good place to try some fresh crabs. But is the Public Address system, announcing to the waiters that their orders are ready, truly necessary? Do the restaurant owners believe that their patrons enjoy their food with a loudspeaker over their heads calling "numbers 14, 21, 78 your orders are ready; number 23 your order is ready; number 92 your order is ready". On and on and on, 4-5 times per minute. Give it a break people!

My fiancée nd I went to Rustic inn on 9/20/12 nd I'm glad we did. The food is AMAZING!!!!! I had jumbo shrimp with rice, vegetables nd potato everything was well seasoned nd the shrimp very juicy nd tender. My fiancée had garlic crab, OMG!!!! They were FANTASTIC,AWESOME!!!! I could go on, nd on bt if you ever have the time stop by rustic inn nd enjoy ur meal. My waiter was great, hi Freddy (waiter's name). Its an amazing place, wit great food nd atmosphere. Trust me im a picky eater bt i fell in love with this place. I give it a 10 out of 10. Amazing!!!!!

Definitely your down home take out your anger and get dirty kinda spot. Appetizers were ok. Ordered a chowder and was a little disappointed in how smooth it was. I like mine a little chunky but overall good. Had the gator bites and frog legs. An absolute must. Best in the area. Well cooked and ever so tasty. Could always do with a little less batter. I ordered the soft shell crap plate for an appetizer as well. I have a soft spot for them. They were overly battered and there was only two of those little guys. Next we two separate crab plates, one was the sampler and the other the queen crab. A lot of work! Honestly the crab was to buttery. I like to add butter to my crab not for it to be cooked in it. Maybe they should just steam em... There was no point at all in the butter bowl on my plate. However overall a nice experience and a pretty cool little spot. Definitely felt like Florida!
