I don't leave a lot of reviews, but hey, it's a new restaurant in the Nova, and I stay the night here far too often with work, so hurray! Fot starters, the entire front of house staff, and there were lots of them - i think i received service from no fewer than 5 hostesses and servers - seemed like they were absolutely loaded on valium. All super friendly but like, tranced right out. I imagine the opening of a new restaurant is a stressful experience so maybe people are just coping day by day for now. But whatever. It was cute. Anyway. Food was good, i got the happy hour chicken strips and a salad. Really good strips! Juicy and tender, southern style battered. The pizza oven apparently wasn't working today so a lot of the menu was off limits but it was fine. HOWEVER. The music made me want to blow my brains out. It was a playlist of electronicy-style happy sounding remakes of pop songs. Stuff from the 60s right through to the early 2010s, and all sped up, k-poppy, zillenial bubblegum madness. It wasn't "too loud", but it was loud enough that you kind of had to hear it. I hope that playlist isn't a regular thing. All in all, four stars because the food was good, and I think the oven being down can be attributed to the growing pains of a new establishment. Service was good and the only real thing that bugged me was the music. Cheers, Kid-friendliness: Kids apparently eat free tuesdays? I didn't bring one to test this out, but it was mentioned on a Specials board.
