I’m sure where all these positive comments are coming from because this food was bland, unseasoned and trash. I ordered boneless chicken and waffles the chicken was bone in. Who makes bone in chicken and waffles? The syrup tasted like water. The Mac and cheese was even worse. No flavor or seasoning at all. Kraft box Mac and cheese was better than this. Then there was an additional service charge even though I dined ALONE. There’s nothing southern about this restaurant because southern people know how to actually SEASON their food. 0/10
Only bummer was the noise level. Food was great, hush puppies to die for! Butterscotch pie was wonderful.
Many restaurants strive to obtain the elusive 5-Star review, and Revival is one that deserves every last point! (Updated Review - 2024) On a recent trip back to Minneapolis, we dined at Revival for the first time in a few years. This updated location has added parking which was a great touch! The menu, and food is still as fantastic as it always has been! (Original Review - 2017) We arrived around 7:30pm on a Sunday evening, and were told it would be a wait of approximately 45 minutes. Normally, we would have moved on. Having heard great things, we decided to wait it out and headed across the street to The Lowbrow for a beverage while we waited. 50 minutes into our wait, our table was ready. We were quickly seated and greeted by our server. She was extremely friendly and provided an overview of the menu along with some of her favorite choices. We ended up ordering 1/2 bird, biscuits, two orders of hush puppies and THREE orders of the Mac + Cheese. Close your eyes, Imagine a plate of chicken that starts off with a super crispy skin and ends with bite upon bite of juicy and tender chicken. Now Open your eyes, it's on your plate in front of you at Revival. Don't like Mac + Cheese? What is wrong with you? Who doesn't like like a delectable bowl of cavatappi pasta soaked in a creamy cheese sauce, topped with crispy breadcrumbs? Order it here, you will instantly have a new fascination. The hush puppies were also great, but one order provides plenty to share! Note to self: Next time... Save room for dessert. Revival - Good things are worth the wait.
It's been a while since I've been to Revival, so I'll just talk about my first few experiences, which were awesome. I still believe this is the best burger in town, and when you can order a whole Nashville Hot Chicken as a complement to that tasty burger, what's not to love? I know there are a couple of Revival restaurants in the TC now, but I like the intimate atmosphere this one provides. The best experiences I've had is when I bring 2-3 friends with me who are from out of town and we order a bunch of different menu items. They all rave about how amazing the food is here. I don't live in MN anymore, but I hope the quality of the food at Revival is still at a high level the next time I'm back in town! Highly recommend!
Was really good. I had the brisket Sammy. Only thing I'd say is ask for a little more BBQ sauce other then that was fantastic.
Very friendly staff and good food! was 10/10 highly recommended!
First time I went here in the old location the food and service were amazing. This was several years ago. It felt like a special event. Tonight the service was subpar. Everyone working there seemed unhappy. Zero smiling. Waited 10 plus minutes for server to ask us to order. The food came out before the drinks. Staff seemed bothered by serving us. The food was good, not outstanding. I don’t think I will go back. I’m not a fan of 6.5% fee added to bill. I want workers to get paid fairly - but business owners should figure out how to include paying employees into their costs. Don’t list a chicken for $38 and the charge a 6.5% fee and then expect customer to pay a tip. And don’t charge that fee when you are giving below average service.
The new location looks great and the food is awesome. It’s small and stays pretty busy so usually when we go there is a little wait but they move quick!
