Restaurant El Cortijo

El Cortijo es un clásico que nunca falla. Todo bueno y las carnes excelentes.

Hace años hemos ido muchas veces: es un viaje a un cortijo. Tiene chimenea. La especialidad es carne a la brasa. Desde la pandemia no hemos vuelto. Fuimos ahora y lo encontramos super caro. Prácticamente no han subido los precios pero cobran todo aparte: pan, alioli, etc. Dudo que volveremos porque por 85€ sin café ni copas para 2, se encuentra mejor en la zona.

Of our week’s stay in Malgret de Mar Restaurant El Cortijo was, by a landslide, the warmest and most authentic Catalonian experience. Don’t be fooled by the dismal yellowed pictures on the menu, they completely understate the quality and appeal of the food on your plate. The meat is of superb quality and cooked to juicy perfection - without a doubt the most tasty entrecôte I have ever tasted, and you will just have to believe me when I say: that says something. I would advice you go there famished, for the meat is served in Flintstone-like proportion. Our waiter was a sweet humble man that must have at least thanked us a hundred times. To surmise this diamond in the rough: a welcoming and tasty introduction to the Catalonian cuisine that I would highly recommend.
