With its' origin as a Conoco service station in the 50's, The IceHouse Kitchen & Tavern was born out of a necessity to quench the thirst of Taylor locals, rather than change the oil in their old Chevrolets. A young man named Randy went to his kinfolk who ran the service station and convinced them that the community might be better served if he converted gas sales into sales of the golden suds, and shortly after, the little beer joint was born. Ever since that day in 1977, when the gas pumps were turned off, that little IceHouse has been offering fixes for the cravings of both locals and those just passing through. The recipes introduced into that kitchen back then, are still favorites today!
