Just had some food and a few drinks with my wife. Unfortunately for us their is no dog free areas. We reported to the manager of an incident we noticed when a family where feeding their dog on kitchen crockery on the floor next to the table. We find that totally unacceptable. The manager when confronted replied that his staff deal with dog excrement aswell. Please respect that not all people want to be around dogs, some people are afraid or may be allergic. Please bring back choice.
looks like a great place! however, 2 mains and a starter for 45 quid and super small portions, for very average food....was very disappointing!! my partner ordered 'sausage and mash" and the portion size was laughable! such a shame as the location is great but it's all " fur coat with no knickers" As I sit here writing this review, the guy on the next table ordered the sausage and mash too and he is absolutely fuming! A complete rip off. But on the plus side, has anybody ever bought anything in the Lakes and thought "what a bargain"?
Slightly overpriced for what is essentially a sandwich (£44 for 1 wine, 1 beer and two sandwiches). Food was very quick and tasty. Very dog friendly Menu was slightly odd, you can only have certain items at certain times however, We will definitely return though on our stay near by!
Staff lovely and very professional.
Really lovely spot for a pint and a meal. Food was good, beer refreshing, and staff very friendly. The staff were super welcoming both to us and our dog. It is expensive, but so are most spots in the Lake District, and you get what you pay for. Will definitely be back
Overpriced terrible food, small plates basically £10 each. Ordered pork balls, nachos and bhajis. Couldn't manage one pork ball smelled like fish so i assume fried in the same oil. Nachos...well there wasn't any it was literally all guacamole and freezing cold. Bhajis tasted good but wasn't cooked enough. Was dead inside, obviously for a reason. Dont recommend.
Despite the incredible location this is a generic but expensive food pub, more like a residents bar or upmarket cafeteria. None of the homeliness or atmosphere one expects in a lakeland pub.
