Racist staff. I went there today at 2 was in the back of the queue and when I got in the front they asked if I was wanted cheese & onion after a while of them having a chit chat and seeing me stood waiting. I said yes please. They said it’s not here yet just wait over there. So I waited, and I saw that the cheese and onion arrived. When it did, they were still having their chit chat. It was just me and my mum in the store at that time. After 2mins of waiting I kindly asked them if the cheese and onions are ready even though I knew it was. The woman then started speaking to the other member of staff who was also an old woman and saying I didn’t serve her, did you? I didn’t ask here anything did you? And was mumbling between themselves making me wait even more. I know they were making racist remarks as I heard what was said but will not say here explicitly, all the other customers who were in front of me earlier were white and were treated nicely. I was treated like this because of being a muslim with a scarf on as well as my mum besides me who also had one on right from the very start with her assumption of me wanting cheese and onion as nothing else is Halal. Something she didn’t have to ask and could have asked what I liked to eat and wait for me to say I want cheese and onion. Never eating at pound bakery again as a result of this. Shame on the company for even considering employing two old racist women like this. Sticking to Greggs where I’ve been eating in 20+ different stores and never experienced racism.

Lovely staff serving bargain food fast. Cream cakes are amazing. Vegetarian options: All the cream cakes are vegetarian, and 95% of the other cakes are too. Cheese on toast is fit.

I go here regularly for cheese on toast at 12.30 dinner and they never have any . Why advertise something and never have any ,it's a waste of time and they never ever offer to make any

We got a few other items which were as follows :- 1. Meat and potato pie. Pastry so soft and didn’t hold together very well, it didn’t taste nice at all and tasted cheap as though it was made with lard NOT butter, the filling was absolutely bland/tasteless and just awful. It was extremely poor quality and we did not finish it. 2. Meat and potato pastie/slice. Very thin, very greasy, filling was absolutely bland/tasteless…just awful and we didn’t finish it. We found that the above items are extremely poor quality and extremely bland/tasteless which need to be addressed and cannot be given any star rating as they were so bad. We purchased a Bavarian slice which was excellent, big slice, gorgeous filling, pastry was crispy but not too crispy, icing was a lovely consistency and a perfect amount of jam. 5/5. We would definitely have this again. We also purchased a cheese salad baguette which was a 3/5. The bread itself was very nice BUT it needs more cheese and salad to get it up to a 5. We would have that again. We would only return to Pound Bakery to purchase a Bavarian slice and the above baguette. If we were not purchasing these, we would not recommend you visit.

Out and about in Royton and needed something to eat. Pound Bakery was recommended to me. The person who recommended this place mustn't like me at all!! Cold gelatinous egg on the smallest bread roll ever. Also ordered a "sausage sub", sausages were so rubbery they resembled something you would find in an adult only shop!!! Shame I couldn't rate zero as 1 star is more than generous!!! AVOID at all cost, was disgusting!!!!

Just order two pasties from your self for £3.20. They was cold under cooked. Tasted awful. Worse pasty I have ever had.
