My husband and I are regulars to Port of Subs. Recently the service has been hit and miss. We had our meal delivered this time around. The wheat bread we had was slightly overbaked. I normally wouldn't say something, but this seems to happen more often than not with the wheat bread now.
The original sub shop where everything is sliced to order. Better bread, just a better place all around. Beats out the sub shop with yoga mat bread.

We love the quality of the ingredients. However, many recent orders have been messed up. We've had missing veggies or the wrong add ons. One time we had an entirely wrong sandwich. The staff are usually busy when I pick up, but it's always made in 20 minutes and they pass it to me when they can. My only issues is when they do not follow the very clearly laid out changes to the sandwiches. There's proof on my receipt, so I'm not sure why they aren't following the order ticket. If speed is leading to mistakes, I'd rather my order take an extra 5 minutes.
Came here for the first time recently to grab a sun sandwich to take on a backpacking trip. Knowing I wouldn’t be eating it for at least 12 hours, I asked if the mustard could go between meat layers so the bread wouldn’t get soggy. The girl was really nice and happy to help me. I got the Italian on rosemary bread with lettuce, banana peppers and olives. I ate half of it 12 hours later in the mountains around sunset and it was not soggy, it tasted great, and I didn’t have to eat a dehydrated meal. Will definitely be coming back for hiking meals to go.
While I love port of subsx best sandwich chain in my opinion but I cannot step foot in that place. Their combination of lights in fans make me ill everytime. With the amount of time it takes me to order with no one in there I have a headache and am nauseous among other things. Definitely glad I'm not epileptic but Definitely couldn't spend more than 10 min there

Worst customer service I’ve had in a while. We live in Ferndale, just had a little girl 10 days ago. We had been craving port of subs for the last couple weeks. We made our first trip out of the house with our newborn and our 4 year old son tonight to finally satisfy that craving. We get to the restaurant and there’s a sign up on the door saying you won’t take in store orders tell 7pm, it’s 6:20 at this moment. We walk in to ask what that’s about and hear that you guys took a huge phone order and could no longer deal with the customers you had in person. Next thing I see you guys actually took a woman’s order cause she complained she had ice in here car. Look if you’re gonna take 1 order, you got to deal with the others in the store. My wife and I standing there with our newborn and 4 year old, couldn’t believe it. Also you got a put a limit on orders that are called in, someone shouldn’t be able to call in and ask for 40 suns and get them within the hour. Orders like that should be handled differently. Hoping next time we make the trip from Ferndale we’ll have the exact opposite experience than we had tonight, it was unbelievable
The staff at this location are very nice. I placed an online order for a sub and they didn't have the meat I wanted so they called me right away. I was offered extra meat on the changed order. I appreciate it this very much! The sandwich was great.
