PONDICHÉRY CAFÉ - ALL-DAY DINING

Me and my husband went to have lunch buffet at Pondicherry cafe , Sofitel yesterday . When we came back home - my husband caught high fever within 2 hours and then next up it was me - both of us are burning with high fever and we have had nothing other then the food that we had their . Wanted to put this comment here so other people can be careful - I am assuming it was their raw meat - in sushi and salads . Highly disappointed and will never go their again

The food served was delicious and had a lot of varieties , but no South Indian food barring Benne Dosa. Veg dimsum with black pepper sauce was good and prawn dimsum is a must try. Huge varieties of desserts to explore. Ambience of the place is awesome with great lighting P.S. It is very expensive.

I visited yesterday with high hopes. I won't go into detail about the service I received from one of the staff members, but it was one of the worst experiences I've had. From the hotel security to the restaurant servers, everyone seemed to have an attitude.Setting aside the service, I thought the food might be good given the exceptionally high prices on the menu. Since we missed breakfast, we ordered a Thai green curry with jasmine rice from the à la carte menu. I expected a nice thick curry made by a Thai chef, but the taste was incredibly disappointing. When I raised my concerns, the chef lectured me on how the curry is traditionally made. I suggested they visit restaurants like Thai Naam or Nara Thai to understand how a proper Thai green curry should taste. I will never come here again, as it is not worth the money from start to finish. I would also urge companies like Citi Bank and ICICI Bank to reconsider hosting their corporate events here. For your own money, this place is an utter waste. There are plenty of much better eateries in and around the area.
