Perry's Steakhouse & Grille

The food is always great! Service is awesome, the staff are friendly. I usually get the Pork Cho, it is amazing - both the lunch and the dinner option. All there food is good- you cannot go wrong with a choice. Desserts are out of this world as well. Don't eat all day then go break your fast at Perry's!

My boyfriend and I sat at the bar a few weeks ago..on a Tuesday I think. Forgot to leave a review. We sat down after being told by the hostess that bar seating was first come first serve. Probably didn’t get greeted for about 20 minutes. No one made eye contact even though there were maybe 8 people total at the bar..including us. It looked like two bartenders and a bar back were working. Obviously they didn’t know that both my boyfriend and I are in the industry..which is all good but I like to believe everyone deserves the same standard of service..even if they look young..especially at Perry’s of all places where most people are spending at least $100 per person. We got our drink orders in..and not to be that person but the drinks are sooo sweet. We ordered old fashioneds with rye whiskey and it must have had at least about an ounce of simple in it. For an expensive drink..it was not balanced at all. Probably got our food order in about 20 minutes later. Food was fine, we weren’t checked on though. We ordered a bone in NY strip that was cooked rare instead of md rare. Loaded potatoes were good. Everything was pretty salty. We had to basically ask the bartenders for their attention when we wanted another drink. Instead of them checking..we weren’t checked on once. We also didn’t get waters. We did try and ask but it was basically impossible to get anyone’s attention. We had a gift card and we’re trying to pay the rest in cash. Typically we tip at lease 30% of the bill but service was pretty bad..so we tipped 20% on about $250. Which was a $50 tip. Not that they deserved it honestly but I believe in karma. It took almost 30 minutes for us to even get a check and then 10 more to get it paid out. Why were we there almost two hours?? We could have been done in less than an hour. As someone who dines out often, I have no idea why I have to get the bartenders attention instead of being checked on. I’m not impatient, but this was pretty ridiculous. Super weird being treated like this at Perry’s but hopefully your bartenders will understand that service is actually important and most people don’t tip well on poor service. I thought that was a given lol. But I’m nice and understand they work for tips. I always get fantastic service at the Perry’s in Friendswood though. Should have used my card there. No liquor there though.

Everything was absolutely incredible, would absolutely go again.

I ordered a châteaubriand as we were there celebrating my birthday with a nice dinner. It was brought out with the steak covered in the 3 sauces. I sent it back and let my server know I didn’t know as I’ve been going to Perry’s since the early 90s at the old location at Bay Area and hwy3. Her response was “well as long as I’ve been here this is how it’s always been served.” I tried to show her this exact picture from two years ago on your location review when she returned and she scoffed and told me “sir next time maybe you should consider ordering it with the sauce on the side”. Really??? Wow I asked for a manager. Spoke with a bearded man who was happy to help and had my steak order back in. After about 5 min I requested that my new server just remove the entrée from our dinner as I had lost my appetite. A few minutes later, the food was brought out and I said never mind. I’ll just eat it. Unfortunately, by this time, my family has been eating all of their meals for about 15 minutes and all of the sides were cold. So then we get the bill and we were charged twice for my meal. My parents who are treating my wife and I to dinner didn’t even think to look for something like that on the bill at first and handed payment to our server. They brought it to the attention of the server and she made sure it was removed from the bill. However, the way it was presented to us was “my manager went ahead and took care of that entrée for you at no charge. I feel like the service at Perry’s and the presentation has gone downhill drastically in the last couple years. This unfortunately is the third negative experience I have had at this location and the one in Sugarland in the last six months. Part of what made Perry’s special was not just a good service but the presentation. There’s absolutely no reason why the stake cannot be curved table side for example, as it used to be. There is absolutely no reason why the bananas foster cannot be made tableside as it used to be. I’m torn as this is our long time favorite family restaurant that we love, but each time we visit there seems to be yet another thing that cheapens the experience.

Got the steak flight. Best steak was the A-5, just melts in your mouth. Steak in almost pudding form.
