I hate to make a negative post but I feel it’s necessary for the set fixed weekend Rate they charged this week. No range, no bevy cart, a cart path in shambles. The list goes on. Anything off the fairway was a disaster. The greens didn’t allow for any true putts with all the holes in it. Just a shame. I used to like this track. I was hoping for a turn around this year but was let down again. I would have walked but the rate didn’t change which was completely absurd

Complete disgrace of a course. Normally I would give them the benefit of the doubt this time of year after the winter months, but looking at past reviews this is nothing new. How they justify their price is beyond me, the condition of the entire property is no better than a public municipal. We made a booking last minute on one of the first nice Saturdays of the year, so as you can imagine there were not many bookings left on the south shore, so we reluctantly made the tee time at Pembroke. Don’t make the same mistake we did, book anywhere else. If you’re going to open the course for the year, open everything. Playing 18 holes over 4+ hours and not having access to more than a half stocked fridge of beer and water and your choice of 4 different 100 calorie pack of potato chips just isn't enough. The bathroom on the course was locked and the building itself looked like a drug den or a wild animal’s winter shelter: broken windows and filled with garbage and excess storage from last season. Almost every building on the course looks abandoned or it just got hit by a hurricane. The starter’s hut had broken windows, it’s the first thing golfers see before the round. The fairways were fair at best. The greens looked like someone attempted to aerate them at some point? (Which we were not told). There was a lot of rain in the week leading up to our tee time so we expected wet conditions but the course clearly has drainage problems. Again, given the wet conditions we expected cart path only play, but apparently PCC still thinks they are a country club and has a permanent cart path only rule? Your course is simply not nice enough for that rule. I have played some premier courses in the country and most, if not all, allow carts everywhere. Good luck to anyone that pays for a cart, the cart paths are flooded and have massive potholes throughout the course. It’s like a WWII road that got hit by artillery. Two different times we found unoccupied golf carts on the course, assuming the carts died earlier in the day? Can the staff really not tow those back to the club house to charge? Completely unprofessional. We gave the starter our receipt, but he was nowhere to be found when our tee time came up to make sure we started on time. Pace of play was very slow. The ranger was not stern enough about telling the groups in front of us to pick up the pace, groups were clearly not starting at their designated tee time (starter being MIA), and the course itself books too many tee times, too close together = trying to maximize how many people they can rip off. There was a clear backup throughout the day and nothing was done to alleviate the problem. I wish I took pictures for this review so people could see how bad this course is. From the parking lot to the 18th green, this course hasn’t seen a renovation in years. We had a very mild winter this year, the club couldn’t sink some money into the course? They couldn’t even clean up and replace broken windows before opening for the season. Lower your prices or spend money on renovations. Complete trash.

First time playing in New England. Even tho I was in a rush this course was perfect for the scenario. I was only able to play the front 9 and wished I could had gotten to the back 9 since it looked like it was getting mote difficult. This place gives forgiveness a new definition. you can have a whole pizza slices on your swing and still not have the feeling of throwing your clubs in the trashbin.

To start off the day, the starter was very nice and took the time to give us a run-down of the course for our first time being here. Shortly after, the experience took a turn for the worst. The ranger stopped us multiple times, demanding to pick up the pace when there was already a backup ahead of us. I then told him that I was trying to teach my partner, who is a newer golfer. After that, his response was “she should play best ball. It’ll be more fun that way,” which was a total derogatory remark towards her for being a girl. A few holes afterwards, he then approached us again demanding us to pair up with the twosome in front of us. However, there was no where for us to go because the foursome in front of them was still teeing off ahead, causing a back up. The ranger completely sided with the group behind us, who was not only driving their carts all over the greens when it was cart path only, but also deliberately hitting balls directly at us with no warning. The fairways, the greens and the cart paths are a total disgrace and for $90 to play 18 holes and cart path only is a total rip off. Had an awful experience and would not recommend to anyone.

I used to play this course often and was surprised when I came back for the long weekend they had so many tee times. I soon figured out why, they do not have a walking rate and essentially force you to pay for a cart. Then they tell you it is cart path only, for the "pace of Play". But if it is cart path only it slows down pace of play. For 90$ a round there are more appealing places to play. I hope they figure it out soon.

Course was somewhat beat up but certainly not bad. Price was affordable, had a great time.

It's a shame what this once sought after course has become over the last 20 years. The driveway is in shambles, the buildings are falling apart, it's just depressing all around. The incessant reminders from the staff and signs everywhere for "Cart Path Only" is exhausting, almost infuriating. Every golf course in the world allows golf carts, I don't why there's a buy-in that it's normal to be "Cart Path Only" for all 18 holes at Pembroke. I specifically called to make sure carts were available in the morning, they conveniently failed to mention "Cart Path Only" then. It's all so.....odd. To the actual golf. We paid $45 each for 9 holes with a Cart. That's more than most, if not all, public courses around here. Fairways are beat up (but don't drive on them!). A lot of fungus and dead spots. Same on the greens. The cart paths are just terrible. For some reason most of the tee boxes seem to be pretty good. It's really depressing all around. I'll be rooting for a comeback. The location is great, it was once really nice, and the layout is fun and challenging. To the idea that this place could be great again, my friend said to me "I dunno man....I think the Earth decided to take this place back". Basically just don't golf here. Even if it's the only place around that has last minute available tee times (the mistake we made). We did end up having a lot of laughs, the place provides plenty of ammo for jokes.
