Update Nov. 1st: OK, so the Peach/Raspberry pie is good, but it could use more filling and possibly remove the seeds from the Raspberry filling. Now, for their best seller Strawberry White Chocolate, it's Devine, and the crust on both was tasty and perfect. So, Columbia people and Travelers need to stop in and try this pie for sure. Wish I would have gotten a few savory pies for dinner now. Guess I'll have to go back and try some. When I'm in any city, I love to check out the pastry world, be it bakeries or pies places. This place intrigued me big time, as any local business run by women I always love to support. Most times, their baked goods are Da Bomb! This place definitely looked interesting on their pie flavors, mind you sweet along with savory. Not only that, they have different sizes of pies, too! I haven't tried mine yet, but the lady at the register was warm and welcoming both when you walked in along with checking out. Normally, I ask their names so I can refer to them specifically. My apologies as I didn't this time. Peggy Jean's is definitely a place to stop and shop. You can't go wrong. Where else can you get something for a dinner entree along with dessert. We browsed the small 6-inch pies and ended up with a German chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, blackberry, peach & Raspberry, and White Chocolate Strawberry I know, but a couple were frozen, so they will last longer. We had another customer tell us we need to try one of the Pot Roast Pot Pies. If I didn't just have lunch, I probably would have tried one. See their menu for all the options. If you live in Columbia and haven't been there, why? I would be in trouble if I lived in Columbia for sure. Check back for an update once we try out of goodies. Until then, if you're in Columbia, get over to Peggy Jean's. You won't be sorry, and you're supporting a local businesswoman!

I had ordered several pies to be a nice treat at my dad's memorial service, since we enjoyed the Peggy Jeans Pies from 25+ years ago. Paid over the phone and that staff member seemed kind and competent. When the time came for my friend to pick up the pies since I live out of state now, they claimed they were not paid for and made my friend wait 25 minutes while being rude to her about the pies being paid for. I sent proof of my payment, but the manager said that isn't possible because I couldn't pay online (despite us telling her I paid over the phone...). When they finally found the payment they were still rude, claiming an unrealistically high number of their pies never get paid for so that's why they were acting the way they were??? If this were a business I was associated with, I would offer SOMETHING as an apology. Then when we served the pies, one wasn't the same as ordered (was told lemon creme but it was something else). My husband even commented how he couldn't believe I wanted to order from this place because the pies were so unspectacular! I feel like maybe even a frozen French silk pie from Walmart would have tasted better, and that honestly breaks my heart. I'm not sure what happened to them over the years, but I think it's time they rethink their business plan, retrain their staff on proper customer service, and improve their recipes if they want to stay in business much longer. What a disappointment. Edit to add- I asked for a receipt to be emailed to me because of reimbursement purposes. On the phone she said she would email it but give it an hour. I got added to the email list and got a "thank you for your first visit" email, but never a receipt. I assumed they forgot so I had my friend request a receipt when she picked up. They said to her they would text me a receipt. Nothing ever came to me. I don't feel like I should have to request a receipt from a business three times...

This has been my favorite pie place since they opened a long, long time ago. The crust is delicious and worth eating. They consistently come up with new and amazingly delicious pie flavors and the pie flight is the best!! They even have a game to go with it. Cherry is still my favorite but I really enjoy trying new flavors whenever possible. A bit pricey for me but it's high quality so you are getting your money's worth and they try to help you save with loyalty points etc. Always worth stopping in to see what they've got.
