This fabulous wine needs 1 hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle (So much better once it opens up, so be patient). The color is an intense ruby red with a delicate fruity fragrance, like cranberries and dark cherry. Also chocolate and licorice add to a good experience. Potta 'cca is an idiom from the town of Modica in Sicily, where the winemaker Candido was born. The name of the wine means Bring here!, it is an invitation to fill the glass with this varietal delicacy from the southwest of Sicily.This great wine is made of 100% Petit Verdot. To gently extract the color and tannins during fermentation, the winemaker uses the Delestage technique, an intensive immersion of contact the juice with the skin of the grape.The color is a garnet red with violet reflections. The bouquet shows harmonious notes of fragrant blackberries and rose petals. The palate is flattered by a velvety texture and balanced tannins.

Shows a slightly aged personality with toasted hazelnut, dried blackberry, dusty mineral and campfire ash. Barbera maintains bright primary fruit for a long time, but this wine (tasting four years after the harvest) is just beginning to show that added complexity of time, especially on the bouquet. In the mouth, however, Donna Margherita is surprising lively, bright and fresh.

93 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - The latest rendition of Delamotte's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs is drinking very well out of the gates, offering up aromas of crisp orchard fruit and citrus zest mingled with hints of fresh bread and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and precise, with bright acids and chalky grip, concluding with a dry finish, this is a classy, seamless wine that will offer a broad drinking window.

95 Points Decanter - This is a three-way assemblage: three grape varieties -- and equal percentage of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with 20% of Pinot Meunier -- and a blend of 3 vintages, 2009, 2010 and 2012. The nose is full of flavours and rich with notes of white flowers and creme patissiere. However, the palate is crisp, fresh and delicate with a lovely creamy texture. It is elegant, refined and very stylish (unlike the bottle!). It's a pleasant combination of power and concentration blended with finesse and elegance. While the dosage is 9g/l, it feels much drier, more like a 5g/l and this probably due to the spinal cord of acidity.

Broader, more textural and more muscular than the 2008 Cristal, with seemingly even greater reserves of structuring dry extract, the 2012 is incisive and searingly chalky. This is the first Cristal produced exclusively from organically farmed fruit, and it marks the opening of a new chapter for Louis Roderer. 99 Points James Suckling - A mind-blowing wine. This is super subtle and intense with aromas of peaches, light strawberry and cream. Also shows rose petal and cooked peaches. Medium to full body, with ultra-fine tannins that feel like fine silk. The finish goes on for minutes. It floats across the palate. The winemaker says the closet vintage to this is the 1990, but I think this is better.

It's a pretty fascinating demonstration of the power of the single vineyard. The Gavarini Chiniera parcel offers slightly sandier soils, whereas this site is composed of more clay. In rainy years, the Gavarini Chiniera vineyard drains more effectively, whereas the Ginestra's soil retains more moisture in the hot and dry vintages. As a result, in vintages such as this one, Ginestra shows a more compact nature and, in general, provides more impact and more structure. This is a very robust expression, extremely linear and tight. The Ginestra Casa Mate narrowly wins this round. It's another beautiful Barolo.

The mouthfeel is pleasantly lean and silky, and perhaps the wine delivers more in terms of length than it does weight or texture. A little more bottle age should help flesh out and soften these results.

Coming all from Oakville, it has a classic Cabernet nose of black and blue fruits, green tobacco, cedar pencil, damp earth, and chocolate. It's not over the top and has beautiful varietal character as well as medium to full body, ripe yet present tannins, good overall freshness, and a great finish. This is beautifully done and well worth a case purchase. I'd lean toward drinking bottles over the coming 10-12 years, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve longer.

100 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - A perfect wine, that seems to have gone from one strength to another since I first tasted it, the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 1 is absolutely amazing wine. It was aged 21 months in 87% new French oak, finished at 15.3% alcohol and was another abundant vintage, as this lot produced 850 cases, which is even more than 2012 and slightly less than 2003 and 2014. The wine has an inky purple color, a gorgeous nose of graphite, blueberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, blackberry, espresso roast, chocolate and graphite. Dense and incredibly intense with good acidity (slightly lower pH than the 2012, reflected in the character of the wine), fabulous purity and a finish that goes on for close to 50+ seconds. This could well turn out to be the greatest wine ever made at the Louis Martini Winery and that is saying something. It has at least 30-50+ years of aging potential and is clearly a compelling effort from this historic and iconic winery in Napa.

100 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc aged in 40% new oak, deep purple-black in color and quite reticent at this youthful stage to begin, offering up subtle notions of potpourri, Indian spices, cigar box and iron ore over a core of crushed blackberries and black cherries with intermittent wafts of black and red currants, new leather and smoked meats. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a densely packed mid-palate and oodles of freshness framed by very ripe, finely grained tannins and laced with compelling earthy accents. It offers incredible vibrancy with tons of black and red fruit sparkle in the mid-palate leading to a provocative mineral element on the very long finish. If I could give more than 100 for this one, I would.

The 2018 Twomey Cellar Prince Hill Vineyard is textbook Oregon, and it reflects the comfortable nature of the vintage---structured and fresh-fruited, though not lacking in sophistication and poise. The wine is a ruby color. Aromas of wild strawberry, orange zest and evergreen bark. Round, supple entry with notes of baking spices, bramble and cigar box. Satiny tannins provide complex and refined structure. Savory dark chocolate and lingering violet on the finish.

The Eastside Road vineyards from which this wine is crafted harmonize to make a wonderfully balanced wine. You can pick out the rose petals from Calegari, the earth and berry flavors from Foss, and the precision of red fruits from MacGregor. In the mouth, the balance is impeccable with juicy acidity that is wrapped around a fleshy, rich core. The finish is delightfully refreshing with a lift of citrus and black tea.

The old vines in the Weir Vineyard are remarkably consistent and deliver wines of purity and uniqueness. Red fruited aromas with hints of grenadine and carnation lift from the glass. Highlights of fresh herbs add an airiness to the delightful aromatics. Refreshing and bright, the red fruits shine through on the palate. Taut with refined tannins, minerals, and zest acidity, this is a great candidate to age for a few years.

97 Points Jeb Dunnuck - The flagship is the 2017 Pinot Noir Katherine Lindsay Estate comes from vines around the estate, in the Laguna Ridge region of the Russian River Valley. It saw just touch of stems (10%) and was brought up in 45-55% new French oak. This ruby/purple-hued beauty offers an incredibly elegant, seamless profile that carries perfumed red currant, raspberries and cherry fruits intermixed with white flowers, spice, and underbrush. While one of the most elegant and seamless in the lineup, it doesn't skimp on fruit and has plenty of intensity, integrated acidity, and thrilling tannin quality.

94 Points James Suckling - A floral nose of roses and violets, accented by notes of baking spice and red cherries. Full-bodied with sandy, easy-going tannins, wrapped by ripe raspberry, black-cherry and clove flavors. Lovely hints of nutmeg and allspice. Fresh acidity.

Encased in what seems to be the world's biggest bottle, this wine made by Jeff Cohn telegraphs excess on several fronts, from its price to its suggestion to decant one to two hours prior to enjoying, to its ripe strawberry jam sensibilities. Voluptuously big-boned and spicy, given 100% new French oak and a fair amount of whole cluster fermentation, it'll appeal to fans of frothy exuberance.

94 Points James Suckling - A strong vintage for warmer-climate shiraz and this wine is certainly reaping the benefits. The nose has such eclectic fruit aromas that run a full spectrum, from the lighter spiced red-fruit aromas to red plums, through blue fruit to darker blackberries and plums. The palate has impressively layered flavors that run the same broad spectrum as seen on the nose and the tannins are so well groomed and run very, very long. Holds fruit flavor deep.

99 Points Jeb Dunnuck - Unquestionably the star of the show is the 2014 La Sangre de Jonata, and it's a more finesse driven, elegant, cool climate example of the cuvee than normal. Reminding me of an Hermitage from Bessards, it offers gorgeous notes of blackberries, cassis, leather, scorched earth and pepper. Possessing full-bodied richness, firm, polished tannin and a focused finish, it will be more approachable that most vintage of this cuvee.

Everything about this wine is big and heavy---including the name, the psychedelic label and the massive bottle with wax capsule---but in spite of all that mass, it tastes great. The color is deep and dark, aromas are full of oaky spices of nutmeg and vanilla, and rich fruit flavors are layered with texture.

Zinfandel grown on the hillsides of the Sonoma Valley produces personality packed wines. The temperature and length of growing days offer enough heat to build fresh fruit flavors without being over ripe but still develops hints of pepper spice like you would find in a cooler climate.

This is a wonderful, drinkable, enjoyable Zinfandel. The dark purple color and the lightly spicy nose lead to a wonderful palate of flavors of anise and dark fruit. As the wine opens, flavors of chocolate and vanilla are present with a bouquet of sweet cherries and ripe plums. The finish is long and flavorful. This wine will only improve with age.

This vineyard-designated estate wine is restrained and elegant, allowing for a sparkle of raspberry and black cherry to speak. The oak is light and integrated, and the minerality well defined, with just the smallest traces of black licorice and pepper coming through on the finish.

Baroque in the best sense, this Zinfandel has a dense mix of herbaceous and fruit forward aromatics of berry preserve, dried orange peel and candied mandarin. On the palate, a complexity of dark fruit, licorice, berry, mint, oregano and applewood smoked bacon abound. The long finish is tied together beautifully by fresh acidity and well-integrated oak notes.

Spicy cola nut, black pepper, and briary patch aromas. Medium-bodied with a broad mid-palate filled with fresh fig, ripe black, and boysenberry fruit, and nuances of both cinnamon stick and savory spices. Well-balanced with bright acidity which helps carry the ripe fruit flavors through to a moderately long finish with vanilla and spicy flavors that linger.

Red garnet in color, the 2016 Edizione Pennino Zinfandel exhibits warm aromas of ripe, brambly blackberries, with notes of allspice, clove, and white pepper. The entry on the palate is opulent, yet fresh, yielding to dusty, well-textured tannins that carry the wine into a long, softly-rounded finish.

93 Points James Suckling - Farmed from a small block of less than two acres, this zinfandel comes from 90+-year-old-vines with naturally low yield and concentration. Aromas of blackberries, ripe plums, tomato leaf and red currants. Full-bodied with fine tannins. There is good, steady acidity here, which keeps the juicy fruit and warming spice in line and fresh throughout. Well-balanced depth and intensity.

93 Points James Suckling - This comes from a site originally planted in 1895. Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, chestnuts and roasted sage. Full-bodied with crushed dark berries and fresh mint. Velvety tannins. Cool wet-stone character through the plush palate. Well-balanced acidity and intensity.
