One Zo Boba

terrible customer service and i was blatantly ignored! it was really busy and the barista was rushing to finish a bunch of drinks. felt bad bc they were clearly being overworked. I didn’t want to bother the barista so i asked another employee for help. he looked at me, and continued rolling out the dough for the boba pearls! i could tell he heard me so this was unbelievable. maybe it was because he wore a mask, but he looked really annoyed that i interrupted him

ok 3/5 star review. the milk tea is good usually, but inconsistent. i went last THURSDAY on impulse and it was great! but then last SATURDAY it seemed really powdery. it was morning so i’m pretty sure the batch was fresh, so it could have been an off day. the strawberry boba is really good and the shop is cute, it just seems pretty stressful for employees bc of weekend rushes. maybe some more customer service would be preferred! the kiosks don’t allow for any conversation

I requested the manager a couple times regarding issues with a drink I ordered. The first time, the guy was very nice and helped me out. The second time (different day), it was an older manager, and he was very rude about the situation. He was rlly bored and didn’t seem like he knew what he was saying and didn’t help me very much. I was able to get a new drink, and had to wait a little bit because it got really busy (which is completely understandable) but the older manager never stopped to help his employees with the lunch rush. The drink was good, but I feel for this guy’s employees because he clearly does not care about them.

always understaffed and the workers are underpaid. i first came in during christmas and it was incredibly slow but there was only one barista working so i understood. i made a joke with them saying "thank god for holiday pay, right?" and they told me there wasn't any. it was even more concerning when i came by a second time later in the evening and the same barista was still working. i visited again recently and overheard baristas again talking about how they haven't gotten to take their break. also saw mold on the walls. gross.

The brown sugar boba wasn’t that sweet and the texture of the boba was pretty starchy compared to the more glossy and smooth texture I’m used to personally. I felt bad for the single guy in charge of register and making drinks, it took a while for me to ask for my mobile order and I was kind of irritated because another worker briefly came out but didn’t really help. I’m sure they’re other drinks may be decent but not my personal favorite.

This outlet is nestled in the middle of a nice strip mall next to LA Fitness. Competition in the boba tea market is quite intense and trying to stand out is quite difficult. As this outlet goes the ordering system on the kiosk is easy to navigate. Also their teas are quite good and boba are just right. Not much to go wrong here except that there might be only 1 person holding the fort due to lack of labor in general.
