I love the onigiri here. There are a lot of options so choosing can be overwhelming, but the staff is very willing to offer suggestions and talk through flavors. I also love the fried tofu. My boyfriend's preferred dish is the tori don. The agedashi tofu is also good (deep fried silken tofu in dashi). I've eaten in once and gotten takeout several times. One time we were given an incorrect dish in our takeout order and had to return to get the right food. They were quick to fix the issue and polite and easy to deal with. The onigiri combo meal is a great deal! Parking: Lots of free street parking in the area.
This is my new favorite restaurant. The udon broth is worth five stars all by itself. Kid-friendliness: We saw many, many families arrive with little ones of all ages. The outdoor patio gives them a great place to be kids.
The onigiri is amazing! So fresh and full of surprising flavors, we had to get some to go! We'll be back to try all the other combos!
The food is delicious, and the place is very nice. However, the menu is a very hard to read. There is no way to pick up a menu and hold it closer. When we shared that it was hard to read, we were told to just look it up on our phones, which actually isn’t very accessible for us either. Having a laminated printed menu with larger print would make ordering a lot more accessible.
I got the Shrimp tempura udon. I wish they had the tempura on the side because it was super soggy in the ramen and a little weird. I’m excited to try different udons next time though and the tuna onigiri is pretty good! I’ll come back and try more! The staff were all super friendly too.
This is a counter-service restaurant with a pretty big menu! They have great vegan options! We got curry udon, kitsune udon, agedashi tofu, konbu onigiri, ume onigiri, and atsuage onigiri. They have combo meals where you can pick udon, onigiri, and seaweed salad. I think I'll try that on the future! All the food was really great. The udon noodles were thick, chewy, and so slurpable! I was surprised by the combination of curry and udon. It had the flavor of Japanese curry, but it was in a broth like ramen. The onigiri was so fun to try and I'd love to test out the other options in the future! Vegetarian options: So many great vegan options! Dietary restrictions: Menu is clearly marked with vegan and gluten-free options. Parking: The streets weren't too full on a Saturday night. It's also in a Greta location to bike to or you can walk from Minnehaha. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and there was a surprisingly high amount of kids when I was there.
They have the best, most authentic Japanese food I have ever had in the US. I will forever crave their food, unfortunately for me who doesn’t even live in this state. 10/10
